98 nissan pathfinder 3.0 wont start new distribitor no fire

What do you mean "the battery still no fire"?Do you mean that there is no spark at the spark plug?Have you pulled out a plug, grounded it and cranked the engine to check to see what colour (if any) the spark is?If there is no spark at the plug, then either change the plugs if they look to be in very poor condition, or change the coil.

Getting codes P0325 and P0420.

Hi,

code P0325 is for knock sensor and it looks like is a common problem with these engines. You might need to replace the knock sensor, and this is a few hours job for a qualified mechanic. You can try first using a high grade gasoline, but I doubt it will fix the problem.
code P0420 -right bank -B1 three way catalyst function.
possible cause for P0420:
-you might have a hole in the exhaust tube
- you might have some intake air leaks
- injectors leaks
-spark plugs
check first for some damage exhaust tube.or it might be related to code p0325, as a change in timing dictated by knock sensor malfunction.
hope this will help.
Good luck.

1998 Rear Brake lights stay on after car is off?

This is caused by a defective brake light switch, the switch is located under the dash above the brake pedal arm and is very easy to replace.

Crank sensor problem

If you replaced the sensor, did you clear the code as well? Are you sure your not viewing the history codes? The sensor also need a certain gap to the crankshaft to pickup the magnetic signal, is it set correctly if there is an adjustment to your application? Then check the wire harness and any connectors inline with that untill it feeds back into the main engine harness, you may have a break somewhere or a loose connector and when warms the trouble spot may slighty separate and casue your issue.

you might want to have a radiator shop run a flow test on the radiator to make sure it isn't partially plugged up. it is almost impossible to guestimate if it is plugged up partially without a flow meter. and on most computer controled engines the sensors depend on the thermostat to keep the temperature within the operating range of the sensors.

1998 pathfider will not shift over 2nd gear

HelloThe engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

Nissan Pathfinder showing codes on the emmisions test here in Connecticut p0325 and p0302

Fault Codes 1. PO302 = Missfire on Cylinder 2- Injector could be leaking and causing hard start ( to confirm instead to put the fuel pressure under test to confirm, when just started cold having missfiring, switch engine off and remove spark plug to see whether spark plug 2 is wet with fuel ). 2. PO325 = knock sensor - check the Vacuum line which is above the front right tire on the rear side of the tire, where are small hose comes from charcoal canister up over the shock to the purge valve. That hose from the purge canister is connected to a metal hose and then the metal hose connected back to a rubber hose on the purge valve. As the metal hose gets rusted cause a leak by causing the injector 2 to missfire for a little time when warm started. Please check this first before you do anything else. Good luck.
