You can remove it to check it or replace it but im not sure what your asking, if you are trying to disconnect it and drive the truck then thats not possible, the wheels get power from the transfer case, theres no other way. but if you are trying to remove it then you will need to dissconnect the front and rear driveshafts at the differental then remove them from the transfer case, next is to drain the transfer case oil, then un hook connector to case and the linkage, now remove the bolts holding the case to trany, you will see that its bolted on the round part, with bolts ous case slides off, you will need some help to remove and hold on to it when removing the last bolt, i will see if i can get some diagrams for you. the last thing is replacing it is cheaper to use a used transfercase, unless someone can rebuild it cheaper, make sure its not the trany or rear end making the noise.
