Changing idler pulley
you can change it by releasing tension on the pulley arm(as if changing the belt) and then unsecuring the idler arm pulley by means of a large bolt in the center of the pulley, usually reverse threaded. Pulleys cost about 10 bucks, but good bearings don't come cheap.

My 2006 mustang cuts out when I stop
Hi Having a great Time, take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan. It seems to me that the vehicle needs a tune up and there may be another fault or two. Regards John

Hard to shift into second, 2nd
Sounds like the clutch could be going, or the transmission has been beaten on an is getting bad. Try a new clutch first.

Noise in front whels
A humming/growling noise could be wheel bearings. Check the ware on the tires too as unusually worn tires (chopped) could cause a rumbling noise going down the road. Hope this helps as you didn't quite explain the noises you're experiencing.
