Engine surges under load and not under load

Surging is often caused by a bad sensor in the air/fuel supply - MAP, IAC or TPS. Check for trouble codes (DTCs) using a good code reader.

I just replaced fuel pump on my 99 pontiac grand

Anytime when there is multiple issues, I pick one system when the problem is ongoing, check voltage and ground. The fuses in picture is for instrument cluster, Check for voltage at the fuses when problem is ongoing. Use a test lite. As you can see, one fuse is hot all the time, the other goes hot with the key on. instrument cluster fuses-sjnyqsqapi3em5cid4nbnzql-2-0.jpg

I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, while driving down

Are the spark plugs wet with fuel ? are they black ( fouled ) ? You don't have the money to take it to a shop ? But do you have money to replace a bunch of parts that don't fix the problem ? I could tell you a number of thing's that could be wrong , but without testing that would be guessing . Mass air flow sensor , ignition control module , crankshaft position sensor , How's the battery voltage ? Low voltage can cause problems , You said thought starter went . slow cranking ? Battery cable's , connections etc.... Does your brother know how to use a volt meter ? Voltage drop the starter circuit . Starter Voltage Drop How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit

Ecg module where does it go and what does it do?

ECG module ? Wrong !!!! It's called a ECM - electronic control module if it's for the engine , an then it would also have a separate module called a TCM - transmision control module . If they are both together it's called a PCM - powertrain control module . Boy you really need to learn your parts , or take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . Any GM dealer will do Chevy , Buick , Cadillac , GMC . ERG ????? EGR valve - exhaust gas recirculation . emissions ! You really need to take it to a qualified repair shop , before you hurt yourself ! Some people just don't have what it takes too fix cars . Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is a computer , uses inputs from engine sensors to manage fuel deliver an ignition spark for the spark plugs . It is the control center of the fuel injection system and constantly looks at the information from various sensors and controls the systems that affect vehicle performance. It controls the following items: • Fuel metering system. • Transaxle shifting. • Ignition timing. • On-board diagnostics for Powertrain functions. It constantly looks at the information from various sensors, and controls the systems that affect vehicle performance. The PCM also performs the diagnostic function of the system. It can recognize operational problems, alert the driver through the MIL (Service Engine Soon), and store diagnostic trouble codes which identify the problem areas to aid the technician in making repairs. Refer to Introduction in Section 6E in for more information on using the diagnostic function of the PCM. An the computer has nothing to do with the starter starting . Do you know what a park neutral safety switch is ?
