Internal car lights on dashboard would not turn on. Ideas?
Sounds like some rather serious electrical problems, if it isnt the fuses. In your manual, you should be able to find your fuse box, and located all of the fuses for each individual problem. If it isnt the fuses, I doubt many mechanics can fix the electrical systems, and if they can, it will cost $$$.
P0102 and p0304
Check battery voltage at rest. You should have 12.5 volts, no lower. If lower, then replace battery of not holding charge. When running check battery charging rate. It should go up to around 14 volts when engine revving. If you have an issue with either of these then you are looking at an alternator fault or battery fault.
I have a 1998 Nissan
What i did is remove the check engine bulb coz even if you change the knock sensor the light will still go on coz our engine is a bit old.

I think my water pump is leaking on my 98 nissan altima
Very possible. The water pump will be run by the timing belt behind the engine cover and on the same side of the motor as all your external belts. Make sure there are no hoses close by that could be leaking and if not it will probly be the water pump. Usually they will make a noise when they are failing. Remeber if it is just a drip and it is hot outside if you run your air conditioning it will drip water from the condenser as well.
How to get the check engine light to go off
The only proper way to do that is to fix the problem that is causing the check engine light (fault codes). Take your car to any major parts store...Checker or Autozone for example. They will plug into your computer and read any fault codes that it might be producing. There should be no cost for you to do this. They should be able to give you the codes, and tell you what the code says might be causing the problem. This is a good start if you are mechanically saavy....If not you'll end up having to go to a repair shop, but at least you will have the code information to back up their suggested repairs to the car.
