Plug gap
0.040" on 4 cyl. engines
0.031" to 0.035" on V6 engines
Where is the oil filter located? Where does the
The oil filter is Almost always on the passenger side lower half of the engine. If it is external ( on the outside of the engine) it should be the size of a pop can only a little shorter and a little fatter. The oil drain plug is located at the bottom of your oil pan. It's the pan on the bottom of the engine.
Battery light is on
Sounds like the Alternator is not charging. If you have amultimeter, check the battery voltage. Without the engine running, a fully charged battery will show about 12.6 Volts or slightly higher. With the engine running the Voltage should be between 13.8 and 14.2 Volts which indicates the alternbator is charging. The usual problem if the voltage is still low is that the brushes inside the alternator are worn out. An auto electrician will be able to diagnose the fault if you still have problems.

not a whole lot can cause overheating but at first thought sounds like your water pump may not be pumping sufficiently. usually there will be a sign of seepage coming out of a weep hole in the bottom of the water pump, or it will be making a squeaking noise. could be possible that your thermostat could be clogged which would also explain the heater issue as well as the extra rpm needed to cool the engine. first thing i would check is the radiator cap seals. if that is ok i would change the thermostat. those are the two easiest and cheapest fixes if thats not it poss. will be the water pump. also the reason it could be cooling when you rev it up because if im not mistaking it has a clutch fan and the faster the rpm the faster it turns
When i start it up
Fuel filter could cause this issue. as pressure builds in the filter it forces settled dirt into the filter causing the stall. Then after it set for a few the dirt settles back down. Try replacing it. Its a cheap fix :)
Intermitten tail lights.
move the harnesses back and forth, both inside under the drivers side and under the firewall on the engine side if the drivers side where they go where you say its intemittant to the relay/breaker/fuse box under the hood,if they keep coming back on and going out randomly, its surely not a short, but a poor connection to this power line bus that feeds all these circuits, especially if they ALL go out at the same time and heal themselves till you hit a bump
Tach jumps all over the place driving and idle.
crank sensor is tied in with the tach. you have problem with crank sensor or electrical problem. the tach reads rpms, if the sensor is bad it throws the rpms way off. this is why you get the jumping in gauge.

check vacuum booster for a leak, disconnect it from the intake plug the hose and try it again
Drive train locks up in reverse, not every time
Drive Train Axles Bearings problem.
Transmission locks while reversing cause just because the lock pin might got corrupted,or got loose.
which you will have to remove out and look.
Also check the Hub Assembly.
What you can do to isolate the problem is remove the drive and make sure the rear diff isn't causing your lock up problem. On a flat ground and have someone on the brakes when pushing. If the truck rolls fine, then the problem has to be in the transmission. Also check the rear e-brakes shoes.
in some cases the problem had nothing to do with the drive train. The problem is the rear e-brake shoes. The pads are "disbonded" ...causing them to bind in their housing therefore locking up the rear wheels in reverse.
this will help. check out.keep updated.thanks.
