MY 1993 400SEL MERCEDES BENZ IS OVER HEATING, I
It could be a number of reasons, but start with the simple ones first. Maybe the thermostat ? , remove it from its housing and place it in a pan of cold water on the stove. Turn on the heat on a low light and see if it opens as the water gets hot. If no movement as it reaches boiling point it needs to be replaced.

MY CAR OVER HEATS. I
possible causes and solutions to your problem:
1. leaks in the radiator / water hoses. have a radiator expert check your cooling system. water hoses are quite easy to replace. some would recommend replacing your radiator, some will suggest have it overhauled. if the price is almost the same, the go with the new radiator.
2. busted head gasket. this problem is not that serious, but needs immediate attention. due to blown head gasket, some oil and water that is circulating around your cylinder head will mix, thus the dark color of your water
3. cracks in the cylinder head. now this is a serious problem. have your cylinder head checked immediately. solution here varies from resurfacing to re-bore and re-sleeving of combustion chamber.

We have a 1993 Mercedes
The ASR and ABS are voltage sensitive, so each time you disconnect them from power, they will reset. To cancel the ASR light, start engine then turn steering wheel full lock to right, then lock to left...ASR should extinguish. ABS light should then go out once you drive above 8 mph for 100yards or so. Until you can have the climate control looked at by a professional, I would locate and remove the fuse for it when you park up. Much better than disconnecting battery.

Hello i have a 1993
HI, did you try checking the ignition coils. I had the same problem in my car I replace the one ignition coil where there was no power and that solve the problem. try not to buy cheap ones those will blow fast. you can find the Bosh original ones in the internet for a fare price. today at the dealer are about $212.00 each.

I have a 1993 Mercedes and about a month ago while
First check the fuses. The fuse must be in the main fuse box. The position and function of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. If you find that the problem is not in the fuses, then your next option is the relays or the light switch itself, I doubt if all the bulbs would blow like this.

Hello i have a 1993 Mercedes Benz 400sel. i have
Hi Atsy,
I'd believe that the problem could be a bent distributor cam shaft (The center shaft inside the distributor.
Have it checked and if I've been a clever boy you can give me a rating

Hi The same problem still... The left side
Hi, a no-spark condition is checked by checking the distributor for power at the connector on the side of the cap. If there is power, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the cap. Check the rotor and the cap for excessive wear. Check the coil tower for excessive wear. Remove the top plastic cap on the distributor cap. Use an ohmmeter and check the coil positive terminal to the metal case of the coil. The reading should be infinity. Check the coil tower and the negative terminal. The reading should be 900 ohms. Check the positive terminal to the negative terminal. The reading should be around 700 ohms. If any of these tests show drastically different readings, the coil is bad. If the coil is good, the cap and rotor are not cracked or worn significantly and there is no spark at any wire, replace the ignition module.

1993 mercedes benz 400 sel.
You may have two separate issues here. First as for the brake lights not working I'm guessing they all went out at once. If so there is stop lamp switch located on the arm of the brake pedal. If this switch stopped working then you will not have any brake lights. The panel underneath the dash has to be pulled out in order to see the switch. As for the locks not working the pnuematic pump which supplies vacuum for the central locking to work may have either quit working or shut down due to a vacuum leak in one of the vacuum elements. To check this go to the fuse panel in the trunk and look for the fuse for central locking and remove it for a few seconds and re insert. This will reset the pump and allow it to work again. Try the locks a few times to see if they are working. If they don't work right away then you may have a bad vacuum pump for the central locking. The central locking pump is located under the rear seat cushion on the passenger side. Hope this info helps you out if not let me know and I will try to do what I can to assist you.

Is there anything Specific I
Yes. First, make sure that you ALLWAYS disconnect the NEGATIVE cable first. (Marked on the battery with a "-") This will prevent damage to the vehicle, (Fuses, Fuse Links, Computer Systems etc.)damage to your tools and possibly even damage to your body in the event that your wrench slips and touches the body or engine. When you hook the battery back up, connect the POSITIVE cable first. (Marked on the battery with a "+") It is also recommended that you give your battery cable ends a good cleaning while you have the battery disconnected. Any corrosion or acid can be neutralized with some old-fashioned baking soda mixed with water. (about 2 teaspoons for 8 ounces of warm water and mix until the baking soda is completely dissolved.) You can buy spray cans of battery cleaner at your local parts store if you wish, but baking soda works a lot better and is a lot cheaper. You can also buy a good battery cleaning brush at your local auto parts store for 5 to 10 dollars...a real good investment if you want to maintain your own car.
