On my 05 Chevy uplander,

This problem may be caused by the daytime running lamp ambient light sensor or possibly a body control module issue. There is a testing process which could be performed to assist you or the shop making the repairs.A scan tool capable of reading the body control module will be necessary to perform the testing. First check the bcm for any stored codes. If anything is present please let me know so we can follow up on them. If no codes are present there is another testing process that can be tried.A scan tool will be necessary for this testing as well. Please keep me updated so we can assist you in correcting your issue. Do this testing after it is not working.
  • Cover the ambient light sensor.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the AUTO position.
  • Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  • Wait 20 seconds.

  • Do the headlamps illuminate?

The next step is determined by a yes or no to this question. At this point gonna assume no.

  • Disconnect the ambient light sensor.
  • With a scan tool, observe the Ambient Light Sensor parameter.

  • Does the scan tool indicate greater than 3.76 volts?

The yes or no answer here is a big one on moving on to where to go next.

    If yes
Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the ambient light sensor.
Did you find and correct the condition?

    If no
Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module (BCM).
Did you find and correct the condition?

At this point we will need the yes or no answers to determine whether it is a sensor issue or a bcm is issue will definiely need your input to determine which is causing your problem.

2005 chevy uplander ABS control module wire harness where is it located, what does it look like? if damaged will it prevent vehicle from starting

This will not prevent the car from starting - will cause ABS light, traction control light (if equipped) and maybe weird low speed braking. Usually the fault of the lights is a bad wheel bearing/hub very common. The EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) is mounted to the BPMV (Brake Pressure Modulator Valve) located at the left front (lower) engine compartment. It looks like a (thick) flat black box.

Replaced thermostat and radiator cap on 2005 Chev Uplander. It is still overheating

Have you checked the water pump? Also, you may want to check the oil to ensure no water is getting into it. This would be a milky color oil which would indicate a bad head gasket or head. Is your radiator fluid staying at the full level or are you losing fluid? if all of this looks good, you may have air in the system. You can google or search on youtube for ways to clear the engine of air in the cooling system.

Where is the throttle body sensor and throttle body position sensor at on 2005 chevy uplander 3.5L at

I looked into your year and it does not look like a replacement throttle body actuator is available. In case you want to know. The "Throttle Body Sensor" and "Throttle Position Sensor" are all inside the throttle actuator. They can not be separated and replaced. For your year, the throttle body and actuator are sold as an assembly.

Where is the factory remote starter located on a 2005 Chevy Uplander?

factory remote starter???? Your vehicle has remote start , doesn't work ? Does the vehicle start with the key ? Remote start is a function of a control module - BCM - body control module more then likely . Unless your vehicle has after market remote start . Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop . The vehicle has a regular starter mounted on the engine ,remote starter is software programmed into the computers on the vehicle . Circuit/System Description Remote vehicle start (RVS) begins as an RF message received by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) from a keyless entry transmitter. The RVS request is sent by the RCDLR to the body control module (BCM) via serial data. The BCM monitors system conditions such as content theft deterrent (CTD), hood ajar status, and body DTCs to determine if an RVS even will occur. If conditions are determined to be acceptable, the RVS message is sent to the engine control module (ECM). The ECM monitors system conditions such as engine control parameters and vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) to determine if engine starting will be allowed. If conditions are acceptable, the ECM will initiate engine starting. During the engine run time in a RVS attempt, before the operator enters the vehicle, the ECM may discontinue engine operation if system conditions require it or a message is received from the BCM requesting the engine be turned OFF. Your best bet ,take it to a GM dealer

How do I replace heater core in a 2005 uplander

You don’t need to remove the dash or remove AC refrigerant from 2005 Chevy Uplander. Its a simple job takes about an hour with 10 mm socket and Phillips screwdriver. Core is in the center of dash near the floor. Remove lower panels on center of dash where passanger
Left leg and driver right leg would be. Also the front lower panel where cigarette lighter is. They pop out. Also remove fiber cover from under glove box and driver area. Remove large black plastic member behind where the lower center panels were. Two black screws in front and seveal screws in either side. Pull to rear to slide out. Remove metal bracket on floor with 4-10mm. Remove vent from floor pops out. Look up underneath from area you created under center of dash. Many vertical gold colored screws. Remove first cover panel 4 screws. Remove second panel mores screws. Theres one clear against firewall by driver side also. After this heater core is accessible held in with only one screw by firewall remove it and core drops out easily after wiggle out pipe ends from firewall holes. This is about 20 minutes to this point

Before remove heater core, drain coolant, remove front engine yoke bolts, ratchet strap engine pull forward and block. Pop out windshield wiper link and brake booster vacuum hose so can reach hose connections from engine side. Remove hose clamps and disconnect hoses to core. One hose is 3/4 id and the other is 5/8” that necks out to 3/4” on other end.

The hardest part about the whole job was getting the hoses off then in with these spiring clamps and finding the right replacement hose and connectors. Not the removal of the core which is surprisingly easy.

Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 2005 Chevy uplander 3.5 engine

The fuel system is a returnless on-demand design. The fuel pressure regulator is a part of the fuel sender assembly, eliminating the need for a return pipe from the engine. A returnless fuel system reduces the internal temperature of the fuel tank by not returning hot fuel from the engine to the fuel tank. Reducing the internal temperature of the fuel tank results in lower evaporative emissions. It's inside the gas tank
