You must hsve broken the belt. It was making noise because it was loose. The car overheated and lost coolant and finaly the belt broke hence no power steering. Replace belt and check if no damage hasbeen done to engine

you need to buy haynes repair manual it will show you the camshaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket timing marks and manual will show and tell you how to remove timing chain.you need lots of tool and a engine light support engine you have to remove oil pan so bottom part timing cover will seal correctly if you dont remove oil pan bottom timing cover seal will be in a bind you will have oil leak.

now you have the fun of tracing a short/ground. follow wires from bulb connector into the car and up to the switch. The problem should be somewhere in there. also there could be an open so check with a meter.
