Try your fuse. Check for connection to harness. Check fuses under hood and inside under dash.

i would check the distributor cap for cracks, this can draw moisture when it rains, and cause a engine to do as you are saying, spit and sputter, and even cut out.

need to check fuse for the dashboard, and fan belt for unspecified tigthness.

check the alternator belt.

If the transmission is manual on the side of the transmission has a plug used to fill and measure the differential level cap brings back or forward and used to rrellenar and level

on the underside of the alternator you will find a bolt attached to a bracket.it is this bracket that you adjust the alt with.(long screwdriver behind it to wedge away from block...)

8 or 4 cylinder? 4 ain't that bad about half an hour or so. the 6 is about an hour or more depending on your skill and tools.

There is a lot to this. Your best choice is to get the Haynes Repair Manual on the vehicle so you have that to reference. The Number one valves are set for the compression Stroke, this is where you want them, when both valves are closed. The little Key on the Front where the Timing belt mounts will be toward the 12 o'clock position.

If it is a manual transmission and has high mileage or has been driven rough I would check the pilot shaft bushing in the back of the crankshaft. The is sometimes called a pilot shaft bearing because some have needle bearings in them. Anyway it receives the pilot shaft from the transmission and keeps the transmission lined up with the engine. When they wear out and become egg shaped they allow the pilot shaft to spin off center and vibrate. Your problem also could be a condition called "clutch chatter". That is cause by the flywheel not being flat to receive the clutch. When this happens the clutch and flywheel are trying to become one unit while spinning and if they aren't both flat proper clutch engagement isn't possible. Hope this helps.

change the oil and filter and add some lucos oil treatment you may have a lifter sticking

one or more of your coil packs are getting sensitive to heat when it gets wam and begins to mis fire cool the coil pack w/freeze spray and see if this helps, then just replace defective pack
