My gearbox is making a whining noise on acceleration, I've renewed the gear oil, but it'sstill the same, is my gearbox knackered? how long will i be able to drive the car before it finally packs up? do you have an exploded view of the Nissan Almera Gearbox? it's 1.4cc 1996, petrol, 5 door hatchback. thanks

Turn signal light flasher unit location - 2001 Nissan Altima 4-Dr Sedan
Remove the dash cover that has the fuse cover dorr on it (2 screws). Then remove the metal bracket ubder this panel (4 screws). Look up on the side next to center console.Next to a blue box is the flasher. Know if someone can figure out how to remove flasher let me know.

Ok well first my 96 nissan Altima 2.4 liter engine 4cylinder was leaking coolant from water pump, BAD! Someone said just make sure there is always water in it so drove it for 1 week just a mile here and there and made sure to put water in it. Car overheated once an shut down, we let it cool and drove it home. The other day I drove the car about 5miles down the road and it started shaking bad and losing power, like it felt like it was just going to stop running. Now that I fixed the water pump and it cost me everything I had, the shaking is still there. Someone checked the oil to see if I blew a head gasket but said it didnt look like there was water in it, whatever tha means. I drove my car today just across street and at stop signs and red lights the idle gets rougher, also when I push on gas it stalls a little, like doesnt switch gears right or something. I need the cheapest help possible. I bought the manual but where do I began. Please help me, starving student :( this car is BULL ****, every day something else, cant even sell it, need to fix fast so I can get to school.
Hi the car would only need to overheat once to blow the head gasket,, it depends on how hot the engine got and how long you carried on driving it, you can boil the oil crack the cylinder head ect,,, check the oil for water mixing with it (common sign of head gasket failure) the oil goes like a milky colour,, but if you have already checked this then still dont rule the head gasket out,,, it can leak the other way water out of the cylinder head,,, check for any signs of dripping water around the cylinder head, white smoke from exhaust pipe ect,,
But the best way to rule it out would be to get a compression test done this wont cost much and give you a definate answer,, If it is the headgasket it aint expensive to buy the parts its the labour that cost as it aint a small job,,, if you have the manual give it a go yourself and remember you can post on here if you get stuck along the way,,

I need a fuse diagram for the inner fuse panel of a 96 Nissan Altima. I also need to know if some cranks your car with the cables reversed will it blow fuses or maybe the ECM? is there a larger fuse under the hood that supplies the inner panel?

Check engine light on showing a code of P1401
Hello! That DTC indicates a fault in the EGR temperature sensor. It is located on the intake side of the engine, between cylinders 3 & 4. See picture below. You should check for any loose connection, damaged connection or damaged wires. If none, it will need to be replaced.

location of knock sensor on a 1996 Nissan Altima GXE engine?
The knock sensor is underneath the intake manifold on the rear of the engine.
If you got an engine check code from Autozone or some other goof ball company like that go and get a full tank of the highest quality gas and see if that fixes the problem.

can u tell me what the problem of this code PO340
I have a 1999 BMW 740 il My SES light came on so I hooked up my OBD code reader p0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction is what came up. so I went to the BMW parts department and bought the Camshaft Position Sensor.
I Replaced the with the new. My SES light was still on so I hooked up the OBD reader again hoping it may reset my SES light but it didn't what did happen is the OBD reader came up with the same code (p0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction) witch is what I just replaced. now I'm at a loss. I'm not sure how to reset my SES light and if I just replaced the Camshaft Position Sensor why dose it the OBD code p0340 still come up. Any suggestions?

I need diagram of all the air and vacuum hoses for a 96 Nissan Altima GXE. I have a short ram intake i want to install but cant find all the proper places for the hoses.
