Maybe you really got a dead battery because of the kick starts you've done due to the defective clutch system, The normal reading you got was the output from the alternator not the battery. And since the alternator was overworked (due to the dead battery), rectifying diodes inside could have been damaged.

If it is the same as a Nissan Sentra, and Nissans were pretty standard, those two would be the accessory relay on the far left and the ignition relay next to it. The other two relays are the fuel pump relay and the ECCS relay (for the engine computer operation). Does the engine still start and run? The ignition relay doesn't affect engine running. It's primary purpose is to power up that portion of the fuse block that the accessory relay does not cover, like the dash gauges and warning lights and turn signals, a few other too, I think..

there is a short in the systems somewhere and also check for a ground as it may be broken somewhere

The air mass sensor is located on the left hand side of the engine compartment. Follow the large hose which starts out as plastic down and to the front of the car. you will reach a rubber hose about 4" in diameter. It is attached to the back of the air mass sensor. They stopped using air flow meters in 1979 (I beleive) Then they switched to what they call a "hot wire air mass sensor".

check for a vacuum hose failure including the brake booster hose and diaphragm.

The mass air flow meter is located at the air box where the air filter is housed.

It sounds like you have a large vacuum leak somewhere on the top of your motor. Check the vacuum line for the power brake booster to be sure it is connected.

The idle air control motor is typically located on or near the throttle body. The throttle body is where the rubber or plastic tube from the airbox connects to the engine.

Happened to me an was the Mass Air Flow sensor on the throttle. Might be the same problem
