Fixed the altrnatior drove it home and the car
most vehicles, once started, will run forever as long as there is a battery in the car, but you could possibly have a really bad battery and altenator cant keep up with charging battery and doing everything else.

Check the vaccum source coming into the fire wall. Take note that a second Vacum line T's off to the cruise control (if equipped) this system is partial vacum partial electronic. Thats's is a high probability the little (engine source) Vacum line is broken.

When car is running and "hot...a/c disabled" alarm
Hi, I do not have a manual for your car, but I have a guess on the cause of this. If the wire from the coolant temp sensor was bad, the computer may assume the engine is hot. I recommend you trace the wire from the sensor to the computer and look for a kink in the wire where it might be broke inside and not always getting it's signal to the computer. You may want to try adding a jumper wire by stripping the ends of a piece of wire and shoving it into the back of the connectors as a backup to the existing wire. If this solves the problem, make the jumper your permanent wire.
I have a '95 Oldsmobile
It sounds like there may be air in the brake system. First thing to do is check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir, if it is low, check the entire system for a leak. You may have to remove the wheels to check for leaks at the wheel cylinders and calipers. Even if you don't find a leak, I would go ahead and bleed the brake system. If bleeding the system doesn't help, the problem could be with the master cylinder or power brake booster. Make sure the large diameter vacuum hose going to the brake booster is in good shape and fits tight at both ends. A vacuum leak could cause a hard pedal.
