Need to change alternator in 89 Olds Ninety Eight.

Should not be too difficult if you apply pressure to the tensioner pulley for the serpentine belt (making it easier to remove). After disconnecting the negative battery cable you can then remove the Alternator.

Battery keeps drainking

If your battery has any considerable age on it,( 2-5years), it could indicate a dead cell in the battery. If you installed an other than factory stereo then you could be getting drain there. If the battery is new, then check your battery terminal connections ensuring they are clean and tight. Also, check your battery cables to ensure they are tight at the engine block and at the starter. You might as well while you have the hood open, check the alternator connections for loose or corroded plug or fasteners.
