The radiator cooling fan does not switch on when
this will be the sensor switch, normally located on or around the radiator and sounds like it needs replacing..do you get heat in the car?if not then this is a sign that the thermostat is not opening which in turn will stop the fans from coming on, also there could be a sensor switch on the engine for the fans as well, but it sounds more likely to be the one on the radiator..hope that helps

How do you remove headlight bulb on mercedes 1997
all you have to do is pull at this point. sometimes they get a little "stuck" in there so move up and down until the bulb comes loose. be sure not to touch the new bulb with bare fingers. if you can, get latex gloves to do this. simply install the new one reversing all the steps you already told me. cheers

Battery location
Not a big deal at all. The battery on a 1997 E320 is located under the
rear seat on the passenger side of the vehicle. There are two latches
located at the base of the seat covering one in each footwell area.
They can be found by touch. Note that they can be somewhat stiff when
trying to release(and when having to put the seat back). Both latches
have to be fully released to pull the seat foward/up and away.
NOTE: Make SURE the seat is fully and correctly placed and
re-attached otherwise the seat can come loose during a hard stop or
accident!!! NOT a good thing if someone is in the seat when that
happens...or any other time for that matter.

I have probleme with key mersedes benz e200 1997.
Before doing something crasy, do something crasy. Spray the lock with blaster then wrap on it with the key out with a hammer. Put the key in with out trying to turn it a few times and spray somemore then beat it somemore then try again. It's worked many times for me then drive it to the lock smnith that you called and said that he'll fix the lock and don't turn it off till he doesit then it's his baby. The lock only comes out with it on so someones got to turn it on one more time or the repair can be real expensive.

We are having a problem with the keyless entry for
Not familiar with mercedes, but if it works like many other brands, the receiver unit in the car "forgot" the code when battery died. There is a procedure in owners manual for receiver to relearn the code transmitted by the key. When you do this, dont forget to repeat the procedure for the secondary key.

Below 60 digree temperature auto transmission not
Unless you know it's been changed recently, the first thing you should do is to replace the transmission fluid and the transmission fluid filter.
If this does not fix the problem then further investigation is required.

Need radio code
to get the code for these cars, first i would check the owners manual to see if it was written in there. there is also a procedure for entering the code too. you will need to take it to the dealer so they can verify ownership and the vin and they can get the code for you.

I'm replacing the radiator on 1997 mercedes E420
It has a spring loaded belt tensioner. There are 2 different styles. One has an e12 bolt on the pulley (a 10mm 12pt closed end wrench will work) the other has a 15 mm. bolt on the tensioner pulley. Just turn the bolt( i think to the right ) and it will collapse the spring enough to get the belt off. You can put a pin through the bottom of the tensioner to keep it collapsed if you need to replace the tensioner. If there is a plastic cover on the pulley just pop it off to gain access to the bolt. Good luck-I think some after marked tensioner pulleys may have a t40 style bolt but either way they all work the same.

Overheats, and wont switch gears at times.
Well overheating and not starting are possibly 2 different issues. Oil is not the cause of overheating. Thermostat, water pump, electric fans and viscous fan are causes for overheating plus the sensors that control the fans. Not starting could be caused by the overheating but most likely its a fuel or ignition issue.
