Problem with remote. Have changed batteries but

put everything back together that fell apart now open the hood and remove the red battery cable for about 20 minutes. Now reconnect the battery making sure its on solid now go stick the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position (dont start it) and let it set on like that for about 2 minutes. now turn it back off. Are any security warning lites on or blinking? if not give it a try now..i hope this worked. if the car will not start, you may have to take it to the dealer to get the theft deterent module reset. Can i get some good feedback if this worked? thanks.

The radiator cooling fan does not switch on when

this will be the sensor switch, normally located on or around the radiator and sounds like it needs replacing..do you get heat in the car?if not then this is a sign that the thermostat is not opening which in turn will stop the fans from coming on, also there could be a sensor switch on the engine for the fans as well, but it sounds more likely to be the one on the radiator..hope that helps

Removeing the wheel stearing

If you don't have a steering wheel puller you first need to go buy one. Then go to the library. They have the books or mitchell online for free.

The most important procedure when removing an air bag steering wheel, if applicable, is to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes to discharge the Airbag module or else the bag could deploy while working on it.

Battery location

Not a big deal at all. The battery on a 1997 E320 is located under the rear seat on the passenger side of the vehicle. There are two latches located at the base of the seat covering one in each footwell area. They can be found by touch. Note that they can be somewhat stiff when trying to release(and when having to put the seat back). Both latches have to be fully released to pull the seat foward/up and away.
NOTE: Make SURE the seat is fully and correctly placed and re-attached otherwise the seat can come loose during a hard stop or accident!!! NOT a good thing if someone is in the seat when that happens...or any other time for that matter.
