HAS THE COMPRESSOR CLUTCH CONTROL MODULE BEEN REPLACED? ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THE CLOSING COIL OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC CLUTCH GOES OPEN IN HOT WEATHER, HAS THAT BEEN REPLACED.

I cannot tell you why it happened untill we find what actually it needs to fix it,,,,,Is your check engine light on? If it is forget your high priced mechanix and Go to your local auto Zone parts store and ask them to run the scan coder on your car,,,its free there and they wont lie to you,you will get a paper read out and they willl explain the codes that came up and tell what you need to fix the problem.Soubnds like a sensor that controls the shifting of your tranny is bad,,,,Why?,,,Your car is 21 years old,,something is always going wrong with old cars.A car is only good for 5 years than things start breaking down.Fix only what the code says is wrong and get rid of that old car before it becomes a money bucket!

I have two Mercedes - one is 2000 E320 Wagon; other is 1999 E320 Sedan.

I replaced the serpentine belt on my 2000 Wagon today at 92,000 miles. I found that the Motorcraft JK6-947 could be purchased on Ebay for $12.99 plus $6.20 shipping. The old belt was a Goodyear Gatorback 4060940. My 1999 sedan has a Mercedes Benz 011 997 97 92 6K2390 EM7117 Gates belt made in Spain.

Here are the details of replacing the belt.

On the 2000 E320, a 17 mm bolt just under the belt going to the tension pulley will release the belt tension when turned counterclockwise. Removal of the belt was easy after using a 17 mm deep socket wrench similar to a spark plug socket. I made turning the bolt very easy by slipping a 4' pipe over the socket wrench handle. It is advisable to put the new belt LAST on the idler pulley that contacts the belt only on the smooth side.

You do not need todisturb theButton Torx bolt in the center of the tension pully.

The 1999 E320 uses a 15 mm bolt in the CENTER of the tension pulley. Otherwise the installation is the same as the 2000 E320.

First thing to try is changing the fuel filter. It sounds like it's starving for fuel, and causing it to lose power, which also causes the transmission to act up.

There are several parts involving gauges illumination light problem.

• Check your gauge light fuse first, if it is blown. replace with the same value if you found its blown.

• The light switch assembly, the internal contacts are either burn or dirty, it will requires a replacement or opening the whole assembly to clean it.

• Check the rheostat control, its the one that controls the dimming of your panel light, might be broken or burn and disconnected terminal.

• Check the pilot bulb in your gauges, over the years filament might already busted, needs to take out the whole gauge panel and opening it and replacing the bulb.

it sounds like it is shorting out in the steering colummn.

is the your car 1995 E class battery fitted right side under the rear seat, pull the rear seat bu hand from both front corners then it will come off have a look inside you can see the battery,

Common problem with the E-class and the blower motor not working was the blower motor regulator. It is mounting right to the blower motor cover on the passenger side underneath the dash. Pull the under dash panel off and you will be able to access the blower motor cover. Pull off the cover to expose the blower motor and the blower motor regulator. Most of the time it is the regulator that goes bad but is possible the blower motor may be bad instead or also.

Sounds as if the engine control module has gone bad. Here's the funny part if the engine control module is faulty it will never know its faulty so it may never turn on the check engine light. The throttle actuator and the air flow meter can also cause driveability problems with the M119 engine. You should be able to pull blink codes from the 8 or 12 pin connector next to the battery. pull the little cover off the connector that sits on the firewall. With the key in position 2 and the engine not running push the little button in for 3 seconds and watch and count how many times it flashes. If it flashes only once then that means no faults. If it flashes more than once then count the blinks and repeat holding for 3 seconds to see if there's more then one codes. This is checking the codes of the DM (diagnostic module) it should have a code if the engine control module is faulty. All this is assuming that all the initial step have been taken like checking distributor cap,rotor,plugs,wires and vacuum leaks.

Pull trim from inside area of mirrors. Remove plastic from around door handles and seat switches. Remove screw from end door clip. Remove bolt from under door handle plastic. Unscrew lock knob. Pop tabs from bottom of door by pulling then lift up and wiggle door. Glass felt may or may not come off with panel.

hi, there is 2 fuses for car radios the memory fuse is 7.5 amp and the radio is 10 amp. if you take the fuse cover off turn it over and it showes a diagram of fuses and relays. the one that (looks like a speaker is the main fuse). the other fuse 7.5 amp do'snt have this. but try repacing the fuse first gerry

The gear inside has probably come aprt due to lack of grease. You ay be able to take it apart and repair, but how long will it hold would be questionable.

I suggest getting a used one from a scrap yard.

Should be able to hit mode and take it off the phone setting. Also pull back carpet on drivers side trunk and remove and wires to booster box on the phone side.

Check fuses for a/c or heater blower on your car.

thermostat could be stuck , electric fan may not be coming on engine fan if has ? may be inop
