I just got back my truck from the body shop and the radio and dome light do not work. Could a fuse have blown
On the fuse panel does it say they are on the same fuse?

I have a 1992 chevy 1500 4.3l 2wd. Went out to start the truck and the heater controls were black wont come on no heat or ac. I have checked the fuses all good I have also put two new controls in and nothing. I have tested the wires in the back of the controls some have power once you put the test light on them you can hear the relays behind the glove box open and close. Please help dont know what to do now or were to start
I have a 92 Suburban with the same issue (been going on for about a year) AC will turn on when hit a bump in the road... and off with the same type of bump...
I had researched just about everything including replacing the RELAY behind the glove box...
this still didn't help...
finally after replacing most the hardware... I started tracing the wires and found that there is a plug under the glove box there there is a HOT (red) wire that was overheating due to a bad connection and it was melting...
here is where my plug is...
- open the glove box & remove the door
- remove the screws on sides of glove box and remove the glove box it's self...
(you should now see many wires and things)
- now this is where I replaced the relay... I think it was the middle one... if you replace it you will want to refer to a manual or call a dealership to make sure you replace the right one... (it was like $24 or $27)... here is a link to what the relay looks like...
-then if you follow the RED wire out of that relay.... about 3 feet of wire or so.... you will find a connector... with 5 Wires (Mine are colored - Red, Orange, Lime, Black and Green)
** this is the connector that seems to be my problem
Either Replace the Connectors or the (cheap way to fix it is remove the connector and clamp and/or sodier each of the 5 pairs of wires together without the plug... )
I am currently waiting for a new plug from my local dealer but I have bypassed the connector and manually connected the wires until the dealer gets the connector get it...
Hopefully that helps...

I just replaced the front axel actuator and harnes to convert from vacume to electric. After shifting the transfer case lever to 4H or 4L it takes a very long time before the 4 wheel drive engages. Sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes an hour. The actuator is brand new from GM and the harness, cost of $300.00 WHAT AM I MISSING????!?!?!?! Please help..... Charlie

1992 Chevy Silverado 305. I have changed the EGR, O-2 Sensor, Idle control valve, new fuel pump, and new plugs and wires and all fule lines have been blown out. The truck is still ONLY idleing rough and runs perfectly. why is is doing this?
Check your MAP and TP sensors. Your throttle body may be having trouble determining position and is compensating by adjusting RPMs.

My 92 Chevy truck has a 3pc radio. Head unit, CDM, and EQ. The problem is I had to remove the CDM for temporary access to something else. When it was reinstalled I now have no radio. The time shows 1:00 and the radio is stuck on 87.1FM. Nothing will change or reset. I am sure the wires were plugged in correctly. I think... Also since the radio wont work correctly the EQ will not light up. I am looking for an sort of direction you can point me
Please check all of your fuses,There are 2 fuses for your radio,1 to supply ignition switched power and the other is a constant power supply for the radio memory. This fuse is usally a shared fuse with other devices that need constant power such as interior lights.

the 4x4 do not engage on my 1990 chevy pick up what do i need to check first
On the full size, the front actuator is electric, not vacuum.
When in 4wd mode, a switch on top of the transfer case conducts 12
volts out to the actuator. Wire #50 (brown) is the 12v feed, and it
conducts to the light blue wire (#900) to the actuator.
When shifted out of 4wd, the switch opens up and no voltage goes to the actuator.
Check voltage at the connector for the front actuator (at the
front differential - it looks like a large bullet that threads into the
front diff.) If it has 12 volts, the actuator is the problem. If it
does not have 12 volts, check the transfer case switch and the power
feed to the transfer case.
I'll assume it is the actuator, if the plug to the actuator is getting 12 volts when in 4wd.
The way this actuator works, is it is a sealed chamber that gets heated
by voltage. When it heats, the pin in the end swells and pushes a shift
fork in the front differential. The shift fork engages a spline on the
passenger side of the differential, and boom! you have 4WD.
GM offered an upgrade to this actuator that is a motor instead of a
heated device. However, it requires a small harness addition, a spacer,
and a new actuator. It is about a $150 to $200 option.
Good
luck.
The actuator is usually the problem 90% of time but recheck all
of the wire harness just to maker sure there is no short before
replacing any parts. The actuator may not be fully engaged or
disengaged and the fork to the spline may be what is causing the
grinding.

1992 chevy truck wiring diagram
The best way to get a wiring diagram for your truck is to buy a Haynes manual (about $25) for your truck at the auto part store. It'll give you a lot more than just the wiring diagram.

under the hood on the fire wall, on the passenger side of the truck should be a black cover that looks like a big T. if you look on that there should be words that say fuel pump fuse. remove the cover and directly under it should be the fuse holder. there should be a black plastic clip covering the fuse for the fuel pump. if you have any problems please contact me.
