1994 Buick LeSabre - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Change spark plufs
You change spark plugs every 3 years,
regardless of mileage, then you can forget
about them, if you have other issues, as the years
go by
I assume you do not work on your own vehicles, if
you do not say you do & if you had experience, then
spark plugs wouldn't be the issue
That said, I have no idea why your asking.
I would guess you never go to a repair shop, or we
have no idea why the question !
1994 LaSabre shifter stuck in park
sounds like you have a problem with the brake shift interlock solinoid you will need to test problem could be brake switch adjustment or brake switch i remember having to readjust them every once in a while but if you just want to test just run a jumper on the brake switch and see if that works
1994 Buick Le Sabre starts first time, runs great. Won't restart until something has cooled off.
do you mean it will not turn over or it turns over but will not start..?? If it turns over it is possibly the IGN module ... expensive part.. could be the ign switch.. inside the steering column.
Have you checked to see if spark or fuel is missing? one of these has to be missing for the engine not to start if it turns over.. If it does not turn over check the starter for "heat Soak" an old GM problem.
Gave it a tune up still has a real bad miss will not pick up speed
Hi Saleetha, I'm glad to help!
Saleetha, Sometimes when someone does a tune up they accidentally swap the plug wires to the wrong spark plug and it will run really bad, backfire and have no power. NOTE: If your vehicle has "COIL ON PLUG" then this is not the case and other diagnostics should be performed to see what the problem is. Because if you do a tune up and did it correctly and it still has a misfire then it could be a "BAD INJECTOR" it could be "NO COMPRESSION" on one or more cylinders. The quickest way to know this is to do a "COMPRESSION TEST" on all the cylinders to make sure they are OK. If there is a bad cylinder with low compression then you'd need to check the valve train components to see if they are OK. If all valve train components are OK then the next step would be to pull the head off the engine and have it checked out by a machine shop. If all the cylinders have good compression and are OK then its time to really get into diagnostics such as, checking the wiring to the injectors with a NOID LIGHT to see if the circuit and wiring are OK. Checking "FUEL PRESSURE" to make sure its normal. Checking the "COIL PACKS" if you have coil on plug. To see if they have adequate spark OR if a "COIL PACK" is bad. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Saleetha.
My 1994 buick lesabre misses out
Check the fuel pressure. It will tell you if the pump, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator are all good. Fuel pressure is critical on fuel injected engines.
Check your spark plugs for wear or the wrong gap.
Another possibility is a vacuum or air leak. Check all vacuum hoses and the intake manifold gasket. The GM 3.8L engine is prone to lower intake manifold gasket failures. Sometimes the upper intake gasket, too.
Buick problems
There are a multitude of reasons but a very simple one and one that is very often missed(and one of the cheapest) is the fuel filter. If the engine starts and idles on it's own but when you depress the gas pedal and it dies a back pressure can build up in the fuel filter and vertually stop all fuel flow. Hope this is it!!
Where is the fuse for the horn on
a 1994 Buick
Look in the owners manual you will find a diagram. Also in my 97 their are 3 fuse boxes 1 drivers side under steering wheel. 2 passenger side pull down glove box 3 under hood at top of fire wall. Most likely drivers side. Also make sure the horn itself is not rusted at ground our mount it happens. Good luck.
