Can't get up speed over 45 mph. checked in

Check your catalytic converter for being plugged. If you don`t have the tool for checking it you can remove the catalytic converter or install a vacuum gauge and you should have 20 inches of vacuum. This is normal engine vacuum. If the system is plugged you will have very little or no vacuum.Good luck.

Fuse blows for taillights

you have a hot wire touching ground, most of the time it is at the rear light trunk areas down near the bottom on either side,if there is water the wire could have rusted through the years and the tape is worn away.

V6 to v8

I swapped mine out and put in a 350 with a turbo 350. The rear end is not posi but if that's not a problem the drive shaft will work but you'll have to get a new trans mount. you can get one from Summit or jegs. Also the motor mounts will have to be moverd to the furthest front position. Best to put the mounts in then try the engine for fit before you bolt in the trans. You'll also have to rerun the fuel line to the other side. There are some other minor mods but you do them as you go along.

NEED TO FIX FRONT BRAKE LINE METAL

In a pinch, I agree, use a compression fitting. But that is even harder than doing it the right way. After cutting the line, you have to have it perfectly round. By working with the already rusty metal, you are now fatiguing the metal. Then add on the compression, and added weight, and you get yourself a weak point.

The easiest way is to by the right length line or lines (It is far better to have more than less), the couplers (if needed), and any special adapters you may need (ie 3/16 standard flare to 1/4 bubble flare.) Take with you the ends and a section of line. The line is not that expensive ($7 for the longest.)

Start running the line, one section at a time, making sure to keep the ends on the end. When you need to make a bend, DO NOT make a tight bend that crimps the line. Discard the line if this happens. If you have a tool, use it. Other wise use you hand to make, gentle bends. Connect one end and connect the couplers, if used. When you get to the other side, wind the excess around a spiral. Secure with wire or existing retainers.

This is way safer than a compression fitting, and not all that hard. Remember to bleed the brakes

I have 1996 Buick regal gransport and my security light on my dash came on today. What does tht mean? It has never came on before. Is it important to fix or is it minor? What can I do bout it?

usually the security light comes on when the Chip on the key is not being read. this triggers the security light. With mine I had to replace the ignition switch to get it to read the key. If its just the light no problem, BUT if your car starts to develop a crank without starting this means its time to change that faulty ignition switch

The correct crank pulley puller for a 1995 Buick Regal Custom 3.8

Using a standard harmonic balancer puller with 3 bolts that are just a bit too large for the 3 openings if possible., Tap them with a die large enough to get a decent grip with the bolts and remove it like any other. If that won't work then just drill and tap 3 holes for the remover. I generally use 10 MM bolts when I do mine. img_4536-undefined-undefined-0.jpg
