Engine control module replacement
An engine control module (ECM) is a computer that controls various engine functions in a vehicle. It receives input from sensors throughout the vehicle and uses this information to control the fuel injection system, ignition system, and other engine functions.
If you are considering replacing the engine control module in your car, it is important to make sure that this is the correct repair for the problem you are experiencing. The ECM can be a costly part to replace, and replacing it without properly diagnosing the problem first can be a waste of money if it does not fix the issue.
If you are unsure about whether the engine control module is the cause of the problem you are experiencing, I recommend taking your car to a mechanic for a diagnostic test. They will be able to determine the cause of the problem and advise you on the best course of action.
Cars is making a noise when i coast
I'm sorry to hear about the noise your car is making. It's difficult to diagnose a problem without hearing the noise or being able to see the car in person, but I'll do my best to help.
It's possible that the noise you're hearing could be related to the transmission work that was recently performed on your car. It's also possible that the noise could be caused by a problem with another system in your car, such as the engine or exhaust.
To properly diagnose the problem, I recommend taking your car to a mechanic as soon as possible. They will be able to inspect the car and identify the cause of the noise. In the meantime, try to pay attention to any other symptoms or changes in the way your car is running, as this may help the mechanic to identify the problem.
Heater blower motor works intermittently
If it works only in the max position, the resistor thermal fuse has gone, a common problem in Passats. Napkin sell for 50p. If it also plays up on maximum then it could be a faulty switch or wiring.
What is the probable cause(s) of DTC P0171?
Well code 171 means the computer thinks the fuel mixture is too lean on bank one. Bank one is the side with cylinder one.
The problem could be low fuel pressure, or a faulty O2 sensor among other things.
PO306 on a 1997 olds 88?
This is a code for cylinder #6 misfire. Most likely a bad spark plug or ignition wire for that cylinder ( most common repair ). There are various other reasons for a cylinder misfire as well.
How to replace a heater core in a 1997 88
A heater core replacement on any vehicle is a very hard job. It would most likely involve taking the whole dash out of the car just to reach the heater and then you would have to open the heater box just to get to the heater core....If you have never done it before I would take the car to a service or repair center of your choice (it doesn't have to be a dealer). The money you spend will give you peace of mind because the job will be done correctly and if it gives you trouble, you have a warranty to fall back on. Much good luck

Hi have a 97 olds88 seatbelt chime will not
The sensor in the seatbelt is definatly not working, Sounds like an expensive repair for just a chime,
as a joke I would find the chime and unhook it. But seriously you might be able to find the wiring under the seat for the seatbelt and unplug it depending on the year but after 20 minutes of research all seatbelt replacements ive found say they come without electronic sensor anyway.
Good luck and hope I helped you out some....
I tried my best!

Why is my 1997 olds delta 3.8 l running hot almost in the red?
Check if the radiator fan comes on when temp is about 50% of the gauge. Check if there is temp difference between top radiator hose and bottom one. Get the coolant thermostat checked. It gets stuck and will stop hot coolant in engine from flowing to radiator for cooling.
What if oil smells like gas
your piston ring are wornout or your injectors are leaking or both change your oil more that really bad on the engine bearings will wash out fail
Coolant intake
shouldnt wait unless ur done with that car it could take a while to blow smoke or over heat
Check engine light on
You will need to get the trouble code out of the computer first and go from there. The trouble code will let you know what area to look for the problem.
How to change headlight bulbs on 1997 Oldsmobile 88
All of the posted answers are incorrect, with the exception of kevinbkr, but he does not go into much detail. To change the bulbs you most remove the light cluster. First, as kevinbkr said, remove the top black plastic facia plate. There are 4 push pin expanding type fasteners holding it to the body. Grab the center push pin head with a pair of pliers and pull upwards. It will come out leaving the now 'deflated' pin fastener behind. Using a regular screwdriver, carefully pry the fastener upwards and remove. Once the facia plate is out, look at down at the back of the light cluster and you will see three bent metal clips that fit between the body panel and a plastic triangle shaped pin with a slot in it coming out of the back of the light cluster. These clips hold the light cluster in place and onto the body. Pry these upwards and they slide up and off. The top of the clip has a flat edge, so pry there. The two on the top are fairly easy. Like most everything else, the one at the bottom is harder but you can figure out how to get it. I used a long screwdriver from underneath and tapped upwards. Once the clips are off, the light cluster can be separated from the car by several inches as the wires to the bulbs will prevent complete removal. Notice that the light cluster has a prong that fits into a slot in the front on the side closest to the car centerline. Don't break this prong when removing, and when replacing make sure the male prong is inserted back into the female slot. Just be gentle when removing the cluster and you will see what I am talking about. The headlight bulbs are rotated 1/4 turn counter clockwise and removed. Mine were kind of stuck and I had to carefully pry a bit with a small screwdriver and wiggle the old bulb out. You'll get it. The first side took me 10 minutes, and the other side 5 minutes. A pair of pliers and a couple of regular screwdrivers for prying the clips out are the only tools needed. Really easy after you've done it once.
Red wire broke off connector on left front fog light on Oldsmobile 88
Hi, there is 2 things you can do, like Ted sad it just a light, so you can just go 2 any auto store explained what happened and just get an extention wire 4 Yr red1 with connections and isolation that you can just connect 2 Yr broken wire and clamp it with just plyers with out any soldering tools. Or get any similar wire and just tire up 2 Yr broken wire with the plyers and use some electrical tape over it so it doesn't short with the ground. That's all. G/luck.
