Yes you can if you don't mind getting greasy. Common tools and a Repair book from a discount parts store like Kragen,Pepboys etc.will give you a step by step procedure usually in 6-8th grade level reading. We are always leary of the unknown, you can do it. The parts people are always helpful and recommending materials and parts for the job.

No start on key help cancel chip key or
you have to measure the resistance of the key chip then there is an orange wire coming down the steering collum cut this wire and solder a resistor with th correct ohms in between the wires inside the orange cover that will by pass the pass key system
Car starts until i let key off from crank
It idles briefly since it gets gas from your cold start valve. This means your cold start valve is good.
It dies since after that cold start valve will close as it designed that way so fuel from injectors will take over. But apparently fuel is not coming from injectors. And injectors is controlled by injector module. Injectors are normally closed until injector module tells them to open.
Check out your fuel injectors and Injector Module.
You can buy NOID from any auto part store to test your injectors. If there is no light on then there is a problem with Injector Module. If there is light on the injectors then bad injectors.
Here how NOID looks

FUEL FILTER UNDER THE CAR NEXT TO GAS TANK.NOT HARD TO CHANGE BUT.YOU NEED.ADJUSTABLE WRENCH / IN LINE WRENCHES / AND NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS AND A REPAIR MANUAL.TO SHOW YOU THE PROCEDURES OF REMOVING THE FUEL FILTER.
Throttle Problems
Go to an autoparts store like autozone or advance (also check out their websites). Some stores can test the throttle position sensor so that you will know if it is the problem or not. No sense guessing or replacing something that doesn't need replacing. Just because the TPS is only a year old doesn't mean it can't be faulty. Hope this helps and best wishes.
Tail lights don't work when bright lights are on.
Sounds like you have a problem with a ground. Electrical wierdness like this can almost always be attributed to a bad ground. Have you done anything to the car recently that could have affected a ground? Replaced the dimmer switch or light switch?
A/C Compressor not kicking on
The power to run the compressor clutch coil goes from the battery, to the AC Clutch Relay, somewere in the engine compartment fuse box, then it goes to the positive side of the AC compressor clutch coil; goes thru the coil, activating the compressor, and then goes to complete the circuit through another switch (high pressure protection switch) in the back of the AC compressor and finally reaching negative or Ground.
Disconnect the AC compressor clutch connector and using a 12 V bulb with 2 wires (test lamp) check the following:
1.- connect 1 lamp wire to battery neg; with the other check both pins at connector with the AC in the RUN (AC and ignition switch on ) you should have power in one side.
2.- connect 1 lamp wire to battery positive and with the other check both pins at connector, lamp should light getting the ground from the clutch connector thru the high pressure compressor switch to ground.
On the other side what makes the relay close and let the power flow to the clutch works with the low pressure switch, (if the freon pressure is too low it opens and kills the ground to the relay coil and that kills the compressor), that low pressure switch is in the low pressure side of the freon tubing, the fat pipe that comes from inside the firewall into the accumulator/dryer, a big aluminum cylinder sitting on the right side of the engine compartment in GM cars.
To know if the low press switch is the cause you can unplug it and connect both legs with a paper clip for a minute or two, no more, you don't want to damage the compressor. anyway if jumping the switch makes the compressor come alive and kick in, you either have low freon pressure or a bad switch; it's time for the pressure gauges and check how the compressor is pumping and that is better left to a pro.
By the way you said that your system is a R-12 system, have you considered switching to R-134a the new "ozone friendly" freon? to do that you need to evacuate the system with a recycling machine and pull vacuum in your AC, if it holds the vacuum for a while, then you can be sure that there are not leaks and then dump 1.5 or 2 pound (check the labels in the engine compartment) of R-134a into your system. it will be a good idea to put some fluorescent leak detecting dye in the system to check for leaks, just in case..
Lost my last igniton key
15 different coded keys. these are resistor pellets . ranging in different ohm values if you got a key cut that will turn the cylinder, try google ( passkey ii bypass ) there is a listing of all the ohms radio shack and purchase all of them $30 give or take, get to the two small orange wires around the lock cylinder and cut them close to the lock intall the resistors one at a time in place of where the lock would be ,until you hit the one that lets it stay cranked. no more resistor key needed
Security troubl
it Is possible , but check the neutral position switch on the transmission where the shifter hooks up. Two larger wires in the two plugs one purple and one should be yellow test light the yellow and see it it gets power when the switch is turned to crank position if it is and nothing coming out of the purple you got a bad switch ..
Cranks want start
Tricky problem. Small wires go to security box close to the ecm under dash. these are prone to break. The for sure solution is to purchase a pass key bypass box, to take place of the factory box only drawback is, YEA! no more key with resistor .Google passkey bypass , there are several manufactures. Unless there is a problem with the ecm :( Hope this helps
My keys was stolen in robbery to my 1994 delta 88
hello!
replacement lock cyldiners come with a blank key for reference only. you need to have your old key read by a dealer parts department for resitance value, (should be for free) then cut the correct vats key....there are 6 different resistances of chips as i recall. if you do not have the original key for car...the vehicle will need to be towed into a dealership (unless they let you borrow the VATS (vehicle anti-theft system) interigator tool .its now antiquated so they might with a deposit. that will read the security module to allow for correct code identification...these are your only 2 choices..i hope this helps you
ps your 4 thumbs up would be appreciated!
