Cranks want start
Tricky problem. Small wires go to security box close to the ecm under dash. these are prone to break. The for sure solution is to purchase a pass key bypass box, to take place of the factory box only drawback is, YEA! no more key with resistor .Google passkey bypass , there are several manufactures. Unless there is a problem with the ecm :( Hope this helps

92 olds 88 honks when try to start.
Seem more like that while replacing the ignition switch, you might have left some wire loose or disconnected.
Check the horn fuse and relay or the horn assembly. It
may be faulty.
Have your mechanic check for 12 volts to the horns when the horn
button is depressed. If 12 volts are present, the horns are defective. If zero volts,
check horn relay and check for bad connections. It seems odd that both horns would
go out at the same time.
Let me know....
Thanks

Lost my last igniton key
15 different coded keys. these are resistor pellets . ranging in different ohm values if you got a key cut that will turn the cylinder, try google ( passkey ii bypass ) there is a listing of all the ohms radio shack and purchase all of them $30 give or take, get to the two small orange wires around the lock cylinder and cut them close to the lock intall the resistors one at a time in place of where the lock would be ,until you hit the one that lets it stay cranked. no more resistor key needed
Fan on alternator wont spin
I think you should check your connections on the back of the altenator, something is wired incorrectly, if necessary hook up one wire at a time and see what you get. There should be only one large red wire on the BATT connection, and the rest should be in a molded clip that plugs into the altenator, check and ensure that they have a good connection when you hook them up.
Changed alternator, cant get belt on, pulley wont move?
Which pulley are you referring to? If it is the one at bottom of the engine that all of the belts go around, you won't get it to move unless you start the car. when you say it won't move, do you mean it won't spin or won't shift position to allow slack in the belt? If it is the alternator not moving, you need to loosen the bolts holding it to the bracket and then slide it so the belt will go on. Did you simply cut the old belt off without loosening the alternator first? Usually the alternator and any other accessory items sharing the belt have to be loosened on their brackets to get the belt on and off and then tightened to get it back on.
Good luck.
92 Olds 88 Starts only in warm weather or supercharging battery
The O rings on the fuel injection system can be tricky to install. the problem is usually during reinstallation the O rings get pinched. It is possible to replace them yourself. but I would take it to a shop if I had to replace them. the MAF sensor being crushed is not good either.
