Brake warning lining wear
Yes the parking brake uses a small set of brake shoes that act on a drum built into the rear rotor. There is no wear sensors on the parking brakes. There are however wear sensors on the front and rear brake pads. If your brake pad warnig light is on I would have the service brake pads inspected.

Air Conditioner for Benz 1998 E320
Check system for codes;
Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes (DTC Memory)
Air Conditioning (A/C)
Models 208 as of MY 1998
Diagnostic trouble Code Memory [15]
Note:
- The A/C pushbutton control module (N22) has DTC memory and data output. The diagnostic trouble codes and data are displayed via the temperature display window. The stored DTC's will remain in memory even with the vehicle battery disconnected.
- The DTC memory differentiates between current and intermittent faults.
- Numerous DTC's can also be read with the Hand-Held Tester (HHT).
Preparations for DTC Readout
- Review 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 31, 31, 41
- Ignition: ON
- Temperature selector: left: "HI"; right: "LO"
- Ignition: OFF
- Ignition: ON
- Within 20 seconds press REST and EC simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.
- The LED in Recirculated Air flashes and the display shows "d1A".
- Press AUTO repeatedly until all DTC's are displayed. Record each DTC as it is displayed.
- Each fault (short circuit, open circuit) is assigned a DTC. Thus in the left display: "E1" appears, and the right display indicates the DTC. The current faults (refer to table) are displayed first, next, the intermittant failures (e.g. 45 °5) are displayed in the display window next to the FAN symbol. By pressing the right AUTO the next DTC is displayed.
- To erase: Can only be performed after all faults have been readout. Press left AUTO and right AUTO buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds and the display shows: left: "d" and right: "FF". To cancel erase: By pressing the left AUTO button, the current faults will appear again.
- Select a base temperature setting.
- Turn ignition OFF, to end test.
Note:
Due to instrument cluster (IC) series interface, DTC's may be stored in IC memory, therefore readout and erase DTC's from IC memory.

1999 e320 mercedes wiper problems
Sounds like the wiper control relay is going bad. I think it is mounted in the fuse box under the hood or just behind it.

Installation of mercedes hood emblem e class 1998 E430
Look at the new one real close and you will see the locking device that has to be pulled down and turned. It is locked in place so the ormanent will fit through the hole.
Just remove whats left of the old one. Push new one through the hole and hold in in place from the top while turning locking piece under hood with pliers 1/4 turn. The locking piece is spring loaded so you will have to pull down and turn. That's it.

1998 Mercedes Electrical / Electronic Issues
Hi,
From all indications, most of your devices are controlled by a common module. This would be similar to the engine management computer but has the responsibility for all those mentioned and then some. if you would notice, most if not all are non essential to the engine's performance. Initial suspect would be such a module and/or the sensors, connectors to it. Being such as multi input and multi output, it is perhaps to your advantage to seek the services of a qualified professional. If you are considering a DIY (do-it-yourself), then access to a full service manual would make things doable if not easier.
Often this control module would be under the dash or on any of the kick panels.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

How to bypass an immobiliser
you cannot disable the immobiliser. it is a system mercedes has put into to prevent theft. however, you can bypass the immobiliser (otherwise known as EIS, Electronic Ignition Switch) in order to switch ON the car, but you wont be able to start it.
what you need to do it remove the connector from the back of the EIS module and bridge terminals 15r and terminal 30. i recommend getting a wiring diagram specific to your car to be sure of the terminals.
however, do this at your own risk.
My e320 1999 in limpmode how can i fix it
You will need access to an OBD II Code reader, this will determine what engine sensors are faulty by providing you with a fault code, once you have the code and determine what sensor is at fault you can them replace the sensor and using the OBD clear the fault code/s
