My interior door light wont
Hi
The door switch in one of your doors is faulty... The switch that triggers courtesy lights when door is open then disables light when door closes. Also check did you turn it on with the interior dimmer control on your dash, left side of the steering wheel?
You may need to replace the latch mechanism in the door. But more than likely it is just stuck...if i am not mistaken; it is a magnet system so it just got jammed. All you have to do is spray the **** out of the door hinges and door looks with wd40 or some other spray. Actually the problem is that there is a sticky switch in the door latch mechanism. This switch is telling the computer that a door is open, even when it is not. Keep in mind that it may not be the driver's side door that is at fault, so you might want to do all 2 or 4 doors, depending on your model. At each door you will see the latch mechanism. Just above these latches inside each door is the switches. To unstick these switches you will need 2 types of spray lubricant. Use WD-40 (or equivalent) and a can of silicon spray lubricant. With the plastic tube attached on the WD40 you will spray inside the latch and in between the latch to get the spray to lube the switch. Flooding is preferred. Go to each door and do this. Open and close each door multiple times until the switch is free and the indicator lamp goes off.
Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept the solution.

1998 s500 mercedes benz trunk will not open
Try the fuse first. If you have done this than the problem could be in the actuator on the trunk latch. Poss loose/bad wire or faulty unit? I hope this helps!

How to replace the starter in a 2000 Mercedes' S430
- buy the shop manual
- or get car serviced, with MB shops that ever saw one.before.
- look at it and say to self what needs to be pulled first, things easy, bingo now you did it all by your self ,just looking first
- gets some quotes on this job , ask for the labor estimate and be in for shock. MB shoe horned cars. V8 huge and body small.(there)
Is there any way to add an ignition kill-switch on my 2001 Mercedes Benz S500? Battery goes dead after about five days without driving
It is called Parasitic Draw, one item is being left on and is draining power. Attach an ammeter to the battery. Remove fuses one at a time, keeping an eye on the ammeter. When you pull one fuse, you will see the reading drop a lot. That circuit is the one causing the problem. When you know the fuse, you can check all the things it covers. There will always be some draw because items like the clock and a number of modules are constantly powered.
In general terms, you can't find work-arounds for problems like this, you have to fix them. Or, you can take the vehicle to a good auto-electrician.
