Are rear brakes hard to replace
Not really, jack up car securely, remove wheel to reveal drum/caliper (BRAKES OFF, WHEELS CHOCKED) remove retaining clips/pins/springs whichever type they are, if new discs are needed, now is the time. Remove shoe/pads, check for fluid leaks inside and around drum and lines (good time to check bushes too) insert new pads/shoes after degreasing them and rubbing copper paste onto lining surface to prevent binding and squeaking. Reassemble and do other wheel. Bleed if necessary. Drive carefully for a few days. Good luck. Red.

Trying to locate spark plugs on chevy 2005
You should see a spark plug wire for each spark plug. The spark plugs are in the cylinder head. You have to unplug the plug wire first before you replace the plugs. Be careful as to not damage the plug wires when removing them. Be carefull not to get dirt into the cylinder when replacing the plug. Do not overtighten the new plugs. I can't remember which side of the engine the plugs are on, on your truck. You truck has the inline 5 cylinder I think.
When do you have to change rear brake drums?
That sounds a little excessive to me unless you've been riding the brake pedal. Brale drums are repalced based on thickness. While I'm not sure of the measurement, I've never seen need doing at that mileage without some kind of excessive brake use or mechanical failure. If your axle bearing seals were leaking, yes, because the cast iron will absorb oil. If the wheel cylinders were leaking, yes. If they are glazed over,no. The glaze can be cut by turning or even with a steel wire wheel on a drill. If the drums show discoloration ( blushcolor) from extreme heating, yes.If the area where you live requires regular car safety inspections, any shop that does them can tell you what the minimum allowable thickness is.I think you are right to be suspicious. If it were my truck, I'd tell them I can't afford that much extra, put it back together. Pay the man and leave. Hope this helps.
What do these check engine light codes mean? I
As previous post stated you may have data cable unhooked somewhere. B0040- Second Row Right Frontal Stage 2 Deployment Control (Subfault)B0099- Right Frontal Restraints Sensor 2 (subfault)U1026- Loss of Active Transfer Case Control Module Communications.U1064- I do not have a listing for that code on hand. May be able to obtain it when I get to my shop tomorrow.
Passlock flashing; truck will not
Security feature to prevent someone from stealing your vehicle. You are going to have to get the truck to the Chevy dealer somehow so they can reset it if you don't have the code for it.Good Luck!
Cranking but not starting
If the pass lock sign is flashing (pad lock symbol) then you have no gas to start, you have to turn the key off, wait ten minutes then see if your pass lock symbol light goes out, it will blink then go out if it is reset, then you can start your engine.
2005 chevy colorado four wheel
Hi,before you can make any repairs on your car, you have to start from the blinking light.
The flashing/blinking lights indicate a fault code is stored in the drive train control module. Retrieving the code will pinpoint the malfunctioning component which will inturn fix the four wheel drive problem.
You have to scan your car with a OBD II scanner if you have one or take it to any auto zone near you to have it scanned for free and a code will be retrieve and interpreted to pinpoint and fix the problem....
