2002 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Questions & Answers
My trailer brake lights on my 2001 suburban 2500
suggest downloading the trailer pin standard for whatever number of pins your trailer plug has and tracing the wiring from the colors . The standard will tell you what color goes to what light and what pin number it should be on . Also 5 pin and 7 pin are different . You can plug a 5 pin into a 7 pin but the wiring is different .
Also check the trailer socket is grounded at the car body properly. As this can cause lots of weird symptoms.
The heat don't turn on??
Check to see that the heat radiator isn't clogged, as the heater is part of the cooling system for the engine. Also make sure that the engine has coolant. Also make sure that the thermostat is working properly
2002 Suburban 1500 - ABS Light On
No doubt the control module is out, and it continue to operate when the ignition key is off due to a circuit fault. You can disable it easily by pulling the 60 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box (it is listed on the panel as ABS). Note that this disables the ABS braking feature and traction control, so be very careful when driving. The part can be purchased on the GM global parts site, about $600-$700 for the module. This will be the second time this has gone out for me and GM is not sympathetic, rather "pathetic", for a part to fail so often.
Drivers window clicks but wont go down
I've had this same problem with my wife's 01 finally ended up replacing the motor and frame that come as one piece. There is a cable that wraps all over the unit and it has a tendency to fray and wont work. These can be picked up on the web for around $50.00 but don't go to cheap or, as I did, you'll be back in there soon, replacing it again.
2002 Suburban ABS System Brake Light
I have had this same problem on two difference vehicles both of which are suburbans.
The solution is simple.
Remove the engine cover.
Locate a small ground wire that is bolted to the top rear of the engine block on the passenger side.
Remove the bolt, clean surfaces and replace.
This should solve your problem.
I know it seems too easy but it works.
Gauges dont work
I know it sounds simple, but did you check the fuse block for a blown fuse? The fuse 's on the left side of the dash board (Drivers side). It's a ten amp fuse. Look on the inside of the fuse box cover, orientate, the cover and it m will show you where all the fuses are located on fuse block. If this doesn't work my next course of action would looking for a loose or faulty ground wire. good luck
