2000 Chevrolet Impala blower motor work from 1-4 but not on 5th speed why?
The blower motor relay is energized when the Blower Motor Control is set to the High position. This removes the blower motor resistors from the circuit and battery voltage is then applied directly from the HVAC BLO fuse (RH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) to the blower motor though the relay switch contacts. The blower motor then runs at high speed.
HVAC Blower Controls Circuit Description
The blower motor is a variable speed motor. The motor operates at a higher rate when voltage is increased to the maximum level.
The blower motor resistors reduce the voltage supplied from the A/C FAN fuse (LH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) when the blower control is set at low and medium speeds (speeds 1-4). The blower motor then runs at high speed.

if no signs of leak around motor or floor then internal leak and burning it off --buy or borrow [auto parts stores ] a coolant pressure tester ---also pull and read plugs
I have a 2000 impala
What engine does it have ? 3.4 or 3.8 L
Turns over but wont catch ??? turns over but won't start an run !!!!!! What wire did you check for Ground ? Looking at a wiring diagram so you know which wire is what . Black/ white wire , pin K at the ICM - ignition control module . This is ground for ICM - ground point G-111 . Looking at service repair manual would tell you where this ground is located . G111 (VIN K)
Top right of the engine, below the ignition control module.

2005 chevy impala holding high idle
A temp sensor out of range giving a false cold reading can cause high idle . A MAP sensor can also cause high idle by advancing the timing resulting in higher idle .
I have a 2000 Chevy impala with 131,500 miles on
catalytic converter, egr valve, oxygen sensors. If you have that many miles on it, try loosening the exhaust before the cat converter and try driving it. If your power has come back, then it has failed internally.
Head gasket 2000 impala
let the engine cool down enough to be able to take radiator cap off ... start car and see if there are any air bubbles coming out of the top - if there is then the leak is between combustion chamber and coolant port in join where gasket is - but if not then compression test will be needed but it may well be something else such as a module (eg air flow meter, oxygen sensor, fuel pump or bad spark...run a code reader on the electronic control unit if needed)
