How to test alternator on 2003 buick rendezvous
I just placed a brand new alternator in a 2003 Buick rendezvous last week the car was working perfect for 1 week. Now it turns on with a boost and turns off once I disconnect the cables. Why is that. Some mechanics tell me it's the alternator some tell me it's a electric problem? Which one is it.

2004 Buick Rendezvous. My code reader is telling me I have a cylinder 2 misfire.
You might want to try and take the number 2 cylinder spark plug out and look at it it should be a Gray or very light Brown color.
It's also possible that there's number 2 spark plug had water splashed on it and it was very hot and could have cracked the porcelain on the spark plug. Does your Buick have over a 100000 miles on it or near a 100000 miles if so they may be original spark plugs and need to be changed you can try one Thing, try changing number 2 spark plug with number one or number 3 and see if the problem moves with the spark plug, if it does the spark plug is definitely bad if it doesn't you may have to start looking at the spark plug Wires or maybe even the fuel injector but, you can do the same thing with the fuel injector change it with number 1 and see if the problem moves. Shield injectors usually just pull out of the fuel rail but be careful there's an O ring on them don't lose it it should stay on but you never know.
