You could have a clogged Catalytic Converter, the Smog Station should have let you know why your car doesn't pass smog and what needs to be fixed so it will pass.

Car won't start, acting like its out of gas,

If it is getting fuel and spark, the only other things it requires is air and compression-You may have an engine so flooded that it won't start in spite of it having fuel now. You can try holding the gas petal to the floor while cranking it, it will dry out the intake and cylinders, but it is best to do this in short spurts and have a battery charger or jumper cables connected to the battery while doing this. Remove a plug to see if it is soaked-if it is, you might want to consider removing all of them and drying them off. While you have a plug, or plugs out you should be able to determine if it has god compression by cranking the engine, the open cylinder will 'pop' as it reaches top dead center if it is alright. Check to see if your oil is unusually high-could be diluded with gas that has washed down the cylinder walls. You can also try to spray some starter fluid into the throttle body, even if the plugs are wet it should try to start if it is getting spark.

Code 41 on 1989 buick

This is caused by a bad ignition module or the pickup coil and last a preasure sensor, you have replaced the module now also make sure the wiring to module is good and test the pickup, in dist, heres a flow chart to help, if all looks good then it may be the ecm, or a wire to ecm.i think its the preasure sensor, its not showing a reading change too ecm but run this chart and see,johnjohn2_36.gifjohnjohn2_37.gif
