on the Oldsmobile their is a flip switch and also a rotating switch to the left of the steering Colum the dial switch is for controlling the dash brightness , just rotate it until the lights come on

Which one? Lower rear side? It requires a 36 inch long, 1/2 inch drive extension and an 18 mm socket with a good sized breaker bar, it's REALLY tight. You get it from the passenger side wheel well

It could be a bad solenoid, the wiring harness in the transmission or the wiring from the transmission to the ECM. Most likely the 2/3 shift solenoid is bad. Replace the EPC solenoid while in there. This is a 3 hour job on a lift. add 1 and 1/2 hours on the ground. Add the rest of the day if you haven't done it before. You have to remove the side case on the transmission to access the valve body. The solenoids are held in by clips. Don't loose the clips. You have to drop the frame to get the transmission low enough to remove the side case.

K you did a tune up was it getting spark and if yes was it on all cylinders if not that is the question why not. If you have spark move on is your fuel pump working due you have fuel pressure?

most if not all are visible from Oil Pan , you will have to search fom under neath car with good flashlight . Often wires become heat damaged cracked /oil soaked or The O Ring sealing unit to Pan Leaks = = False reading . But reason to trigger code / trouble light is often due to heavy footed acceleration when engine is actually low on oil . Be sure to unplug Negative battery cable 30 minutes to reset code reading - - YOU May Not Need New Part if reset clears code now that oil is FULL or if recently changed all newer GM models must have a reset to tell %#$@$$&^$$$ computer oil was changed . ...Hope above helps save $$$ by not installing new part ..

You don't need to do anything to turn off the light, it's not a change-oil light, but low-oil level light. Check whether the oil level is according to specification, if it is, then the floating sensor might be broken.

Well, if you move the gear selector and the transmission goes from park to reverse, neutral, and drive then it is probably good. If you move the gear selector and the transmission does not change then there might be a problem.

Brake rotor thickness specifications are dependent upon the Year/Make/Model of the vehicle, it has nothing to do with your "state/province" or "common sense." Most brake rotors have the minimum thickness spec. stamped on the rotor itself. The service department of the dealership for whatever brand of vehicle you have, will be able to provide the spec. to you as well. A visual inspection may point to obvious signs such as scoring, cracks or pitting, and a vibration when applying the brakes, could be a warped rotor.

if the car was driven in the rain the fender splah guards are missing if it was not driven you have old plug wires or on other systems bad spark plug boots that are leaking + to- and the moisture in the air causes this to happen more because the spark is jumping instead of firing the plugs so you just keep cranking the engine but it won't turn over then after it dries out the car will start up but the engine might shake a little or run rough

Well stop replacing parts here is the common failure since everything is new go to thhe ignition control module its on the top rear valve cover this is where all your plug wire are at. The most popular failure is the wire connection I see this on a month to month bases you will see two type of connection one has 5 wire coming into it and the other is three more than likely the the connection with three wire going to it is making intermittent contact get some one to help you if the vehicle is not starting go to the ignition module where the three wire connection is at wiggle it like you are trying to put it on if it start thats your problem now it can be that but if you replaced the coil you may have replaced that and not included that in your list
basically you have a high circuit input in other words bad connection
