My car wont start only

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If this is the case, it is probably fuel related then. You need to check the fuel pump, fuel filter, gas lines, and the injectors to determine the cause of this problem. You may have a weak fuel pump. It should run off of 12 volts. Make sure it does. Test it with a voltage meter. Make sure the fuel filter is not clogged up. Check for leaks on the lines also. Make sure your injectors are working also.

How to align the plastic

Call a dealer and see if you can get a new part, those things just have nothing left after 10 years.
A dealer might be able to tell you what years will be compatible, maybe one out of an 04 will work and be 5 years newer. Yuo can find these for sale used on ebay.

Is prestone dex cool anti freeze okay

Some people say it causes deterioration of gasket materials, which in turn causes leaks in the cooling system. I, personally, switched to a compatible green antifreeze. Dex cool has been known to cause clogging in the radiator and heater core. The decision to use it or not is up to you. It is the recommended antifreeze for GM cooling systems. There are probably just as many mechanics that say it is ok, as there are that says it is no good.

Replaced engine in 1998 olds

I would check to make sure all your ignition wires are all connected and in the right places. Also check all of your grounds and make sure they are connected.Be sure that the connectors for your ECM are plugged in and are tightly secured. It sounds as if there is a wire that's disconnected somewhere.

HVAC blower motor only works

Most likely it is the controls not a fuse. A bad fuse would not let the blower work at all.

Where are the headlight fuses located on the 1999

GM headlights are not fused, there is a circuit breaker that is part of the main light switch. I suggest you remove the headlight switch and check it for a burned connector (common), if the connector is burned replace it and the headlight switch, new connectors can be bought from the GM dealer or other sources.

1998 olds cutlass wontstart theft

It starts with the security light and then gets worse till the car won't start anymore. The security system (VATS/Passkey) installed on these GM cars is anti-owner more than an anti-theft. There are 3 parts involved:
  1. The chip-key
  2. The lock cylinder
  3. The TDM (aka the brain of the system)
if any of these parts fails or is even slightly malfunctioning, the car stays stuck where you are and you only get a dealer asking you about 1,000$ to fix it. And all the 3 parts have a quite short lifespan. Way too many people got in this situation (including myself). I don't recommend any partial solution or any used parts as it would happen again way too soon to be acceptable and if it happens 100 miles from home (like it happened to me....) it's a big burden. I finally made it to save my beloved 94 Park Avenue (with the exact same system that is installed in your car) with a solution that I found on the internet and that bypasses the entire factory security system, all 3 pieces altogether and you can even remove the TDM at the end and use 99c keys without chip. The product I used is at http://newrockies.com and is still working perfectly after 5 years. Don't go to the dealer!

Is there a "neutral safety

most automatics have a safety switch so they can only be started in park or neutral.
if there is a fault in the switch it would prevent the car from starting.
i dont know specifics on oldsmobiles, but on most cars the switch is located on or around the gear selector lever.
