My. 99 oldsmobile cutlass dies while dri ing down the road and now wont start up. No clickin or anything but have running lights

Could be a alternator or battery. Measure the voltage at the battery with the headlamps ON - should be 12 volts with the car not running, and 13.7 to 15.1 with the engine running.

Rear scubbing on my right rear brakes

If there is still a problem with your brakes take it back to the shop and they should look at it free. They should probably fix it too.

I took my 1999 olds culass in and had front bakes and rotors put on,they chk my bk brakes and said they were fine now its?

Take it back to him and have him check that the callipers are free to move on the on the mounting bolts. They do rust up and during the inspection there is probably extra pressure on one side of the disc rotor because the callipers are not allowed to centralise themselves.

Where dose my hear temp sensor go on my 1999 olds cutlass

Charlene - I don't think an auto parts store will even attempt to put this in for you. If you want to do it yourself I'd suggest Googling something like, "Where is the heat temperature sensor located on a 1999 Olsmobile Cutless?" You should find lots of drawings, short videos and written instructions. I don't know what your level of expertise is so I'd be reluctant to tell something like,"Look at the parts of your cooling system starting with the radiator output hose and search for..." This might confuse you and do more damage than having someone look at it. - Jimmy J.

I bought my 1999 oldsmobile cutlass new and now im having problems with my motor fans coming on,my ac don't work anymore but for the fans to come on I have to turn my ac switch on,if I switch to heat

If the fans work, (I'm guessing there are two of them) only when the A/C is on, then it means that the temperature sensor is damage. If possible, have a professional take a look at it. Both fans are OK,

My motor fans to my 1999 oldsmobile cutass need a capacitor

Charlene - I'd guess the water temperature sensor switch is bad. Simple and relatively inexpensive to replace. If you have the ability and tools, I can tell you how to do in just a few steps.

My coolinfans stop working that cools my motor is it most likel I need a ne motor fan or a relay switch or both.

Hi charlene ,to ckeck if it's the fans disconnect the eng temp sensor wire and put it to earth , the engine block is fine , if fans start ,ignition , then its the temp sensor at issue if they dont start replace the temp sensor, any decent mechanic would do this to give a proper diagnosis , dont let them rip you off keep me posted

How do I know my cooling fans are working

There a a few tests you can conduct here. Firstly, put power directly to your fan(s) Run two new wires directly from the battery to the + and - of the fan motor. Be careful doing this, as there is a risk of shorting the battery to earth. Maybe connect up the fan end before touching the wires onto the battery terminals. This will prove if your fans actually work. They should spin up to speed. Next, test the fan thermostat. There should be a terminal connection somewhere. One side of the fan wires would be connected to the thermostat. You will likely need a voltmeter to do this test. The thermostat is just a switch that should operate after a certain temperature is reached. Normally you would have to remove the thermostat from the car engine to test it, but it might be possible to test it when it's still installed. Next, test or replace the radiator thermostat. If coolant is unable to flow through the radiator after the engine warms up, you will get overheating. After a short warmup period, the radiator thermostat should open and allow coolant to flow through the engine block. Next, when the engine is running, check the exhaust pipe for water. Some water might be normal, until the engine is hot, but if a lot of water is evident, then maybe the block has been cracked. Best test for that is a cylinder compression test, with a compression gauge. Lastly, please do something positive about this. There is a great danger you will crack the engine block, especially if you are adding cold water/coolant to a very hot engine. Remember: does the fan run off direct power? Is the fan thermostat switching correctly? Does the radiator thermostat work correctly? Is the water pump working correctly? Hope this helps. Regards,
