How do i take the roters off the front so i can
after you remove the wheel. 1.remove the two bolts that hold the caliper they are normally 5/16 allen .
2. remove the caliper. ( it helps if you use a flat blade screwdriver too spread the pads.)
if the bracket that holds the caliper interferes with the rotor then remove the two bolts that hold it.
3. if the rotor is stuck to the hub the get a 2X4 and a large hammer. place the wood on the edge of the rotor. hit the wood so you do not mark the rotor . then once it is lose pull it off.
How do you flush the
best way get coolant flush kit at any parts store it hooks in to heater hoses and back flushes the system , fyi the reservoir cap is ur pressure cap acts the same as a radiator cap
How do I get to the thermostat of 1998 intrigue
The thermostat is normally located in the aluminium elbow that the top radiator hose connects to. The elbow is usually held down by two bolts and it is only necessary to remove these to replace the thermostat. It may not be necessary to remove any hoses. Take care that the new thermostat is correctly located in its rescess and the old gasketing has been completely removed and that the new gasket has a smear of gasket cement on it. While tightening the bolts, make sure that the elbow is seating evenly and not catching on the edge of the thermostat or you could crack the elbow.
Transmission slip wont move
once an automatic transmission starts slipping that is it, it must be tron down the system flushed of all clutch material and rebuilt, this requires a very high degree of training and skill, automatic transmission repair is a very specialized field and takes years to learn. If u plan on repairing this your self, flush the fluid out of the lines and cooler and then buy a factory rebuilt transmission and torque converter.
Why 1998 olds intrigue is running hot.
1) Is it really running hot, or is the temperature sending unit or gauge incorrect? You could use an alternate temperature sensor to test - infrared temperature gauge.
2) Just because the radiator was cleaned out doesn't mean it isnt blocked. Check to see that water will flow through the radiator.
Overheating wont start
could be one of many things , i'd start with getting the OBD codes read and then work out why its overheating , is the water pump working ,if the top rad hose gets hot and the bottom rad hose is a lot cooler then there's more than a good chance the water pump isn't working , do you have to keep topping up the coolant ?keep me posted if you wish
