Starts but will not run

sounds like you may have a fuel pump problem. it is possible that the fuel filter is so plugged that it would cause this but i think you will find its the pump. you can have the system checked for pressure. i think i would start there.

What if any and where

The fuel pump is controlled by a fuel pump relay, and the relay is powered by a fusible link attached at the starter positive cable, and there is also an inline fuse between the fusible link and the relay. Check at the fuel pump connector at the fuel tank for current. When the ignition switch is turned on, engine not running, the fuel pump should receive current for about 3 to 5 seconds; then the ignition has to be turned off for about 10 seconds, and when turned to the on position should give power to the fuel pump again for a 3 to 5 second interval. If ther4's no power at the fuel pump connector the problem is either the relay or the wiring between the fusible link and the relay.

I believe the starter went out but I have never

Could be a bad starter but first, make sure the battery is fully charged and can pass a load test. If the battery is marginal, just playing the radio may have been enough to cause the problem. Of course, make sure all connections to the battery are clean and secure.

Why wont the keys come out of the ignition or even

Your ignition is shot would be the first thought, since it won't turn to the off position. Is your car engine shut off? If so try and start it or turn the key forward as far as you can and then try to turn it back. If no luck, remove negative battery cable and call it a night.

Where are the oxygen sensors

The sensors screw into threaded flanges on the exhaust pipe. There will be one before the catalytic converter called the "upstream" sensor. It will have the short wire. The second, or "downstream"sensor has the long wire and is located after the catalytic converter. You can purchase a special tool for removing the sensors. If the sensors are positioned so as to allow the use of regular hand tools, you may be able to change them without the special tools. It is best to change the sensors while the exhaust pipe is cold. A hot exhaust pipe will cause the threaded flange to expand, making removal more difficult.

Why would the engine coolant leak out from under

It can come from any of the rubber hoses that link from engine to heater core or a non properly installed hose or the water pump.

Check engine light is on in a1997 old achieva, what

Your light is on because the computer detected a problem with your car. Many things can cause this to go off. Being that, you need to take it to Autozone or Advanced to have it scanned. They will do it for free and they will let you know why it is on.

Starts but dies in three

It's that infamous "chip" in the key that becomes a nightmare to many. The security light may or may not start flashing. Sometimes it stays on steady. Gradually the car begins not cranking anymore or if it cranks it will start and die in a second. Randomly it will do this more and more often until it won't start anymore. VATS, PASSkey and Passlock immobilizer systems are killing cars all over North America, they have a short lifespan and are certainly more effective against owners than thieves. Here is how you save your car
QUICK FIX TRICKS
1st trick, Try a spare key that is newer or used less. The pins wear down with use and so do the keys causing the security to fail.
2nd trick, (if not starting) turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) After 10 minutes, turn key back then forward and your car might start. I did this in my regal for more than a year. If its shutting down while running, I'm sorry I have no quick fix...
CHEAP FIX: Bypass the chip in your key. This is temporary, but effective until the TDM (theft deterrent module) in the dash poops out. Then you're kinda screwed. I was told that these types of key security systems have a 7-10 year life span. Sucks for us. This link explains the "Key Issue" pretty well.
----- http://vats.likeabigdog.com/

If you're gonna tear your car apart anyway, just do this next fix and bypass it all together. Its more money, less work, and a PERMANENT fix. Up to you tho.

NEVER WORRY AGAIN FIX: Bypass the whole VATS/Passlock/passkey I or passkey II system entirely. Literally take it out, and throw it away. I just did this in my Regal. Took about an hour. It took longer to find the solution than it did to fix the problem. They sell a unit for 200 bucks to totally bypass this system FOREVER. life time-money back and all that. Finally did this in my car. Well worth the 200 if you've looked into getting this replaced... It can cost anywhere from 600-1000 bucks. If you do buy this, please purchase it thru this link.
----- http://newrockies.ca?ap_id=judd0081 <-----Save this link to your "favorites", trust me you will eventually need it.
----- With this fix, you can take that whole Vats, passlock, passkey system out of your car all together. Good info on both sites.

It works for:
Any GM or Isuzu Vehicle with VATS or PASSKey or PASSLock security systems.
If your car has the chip in the key or in the lock cylinder, then you can save it with this Full Bypass.
It works for, but is not limited to:

if this only happens when you apply the brakes it most likely sounds to me like your rotor is warped and needs to be replaced... if you are going to be doing this make sure that you replace both sides and do the brake pads as well.. the brake system on a car is not something that one should cheap out on.
