Security light is on car will not start
The security light turns on when the car doesn't or can't read the signal from your smart key. It considers this a threat and locks out the starter. It can be a bad or worn key, a broken or worn lock cylinder in the ignition, or a malfunctioning Theft Deterrent Module. (TDM). You can start replacing these parts with the proper GM original parts and hope you get the right one, or bypass the system entirely. This link should help you understand the problem and also offers solutions to fix this yourself permanently.http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Not postitive but you probably have to open the trunk and fo through the "back" of the light housing. Your problem sounds like a bad ground. If you're not a mechanic and/or familiar with the system, you better have a qualified mechanic check it out for you.

If your owners manual calls for platinum plugs then yes you should use them. Platinum plugs "fire" better and last longer.

Where is the crank sensor located
You have to remove the passenger front wheel and plastic cover so you can see the crankshaft pulley. The sensor is located behind the crankshaft pulley to the front of the motor. You will have to remove the belt and crankshaft pulley to gain access to the sensor. Hope this helps. Leave comment.

Where is the fuel pump fuse located on a 1996
Follow your gas line. I think it is in the tank. Have someone turn on your key on but don't start it and you will hear a noise if you put your head under the car by the tank. I think it is electronic.
Tail lite has water in it about one fourth full
Get a tiny drill bit - (1/16inch ) . Look over the light assembly and drill into the lowest point, making sure you drill only into the lens and not the housing. **** the bit around a little to remove plastic burrs - this should get the water out. You may want to check with your local wrecking yards for a replacement light assembly as yours has a crack, allowing the water in.The water will cause corrosion in the bulb socket, eventually forcing you to replace several bulbs before you'll have to replace the socket.
Defroster Does not work.
The air, after exiting from the heater, is diverted to the different output ports on the dash by some flaps. In your case the flap controlling the defroster ports is nonresponsive, stuck closed. The only way to find out why is to take out at least the center console and check the flaap itself (it might have been seized in by dirt) , it's lefer (it might be broken) or the control cable (it might be broken or unhooked).
If the fault is with the flap or the lever the entire dash will have to come out to allow for its replacement. In any case this is a big job, that you should leave to a repair shop - no need for a dealer, get the cheapest one you can find.
