I would like to know
hi art , i think they are going to call it ride height in the alignment specs . front ride height would be 9.0" - 9.8" and that point of measurement would be taken at the rocker panel 23.5" back from the center of the front axel (center of tire) to the bottom of the rocker panel .and the rear height would be 9.05" - 9.85" , and that point of measurement would be 23.5" from the center of the rear axel forward to the bottom of the rocker panel .see pic

Radio wires cut
probably blew a fuse when cutting wires was the radio stolen where multipe wires were cut at the same time?

Put a jack under the engine and take out the mount and after you finish installing the waterpump install the mount back.
The battery in my 1994 olds 98 regency drains down
check for power drain in accessories such as under hood light/glove box light/trunk light sometimes these switches stick on and drain battery-but i would also recheck the battery again if one failed never know could be from same batch

Need cylinder head and intake
1976 OLDSMOBILE TORQUE SPECS
455 CI cylinder head torque 85 ft/lbs
455 CI intake manifold torque 40 ft/lb

Back firing through the caburator
That system should be pretty conventional so you need to check ignition timing if you have a light to do it or have a service shop do it. They shouldn't charge much to check it or, as far as that goes, to adjust it if needed.
It doesn't sound like a serious problem and you can check before you go (engine off) to see if the distributor can be moved by trying to rotate it.
You should put some kind of mark to show where it was before you try this since you could otherwise make it worse.
You have to expect though that with almost 30 years 'experience' you may need the distributor and if they are original, perhaps ignition wiring too, replaced.
A rebuilt will do fine; new, they can be costly.
