96 88 olds, hood is popped but won't open. Is freezing weather a factor and my girlfriend just washed the car. Was wondering if maybe hood hinge is frozen. Anything helps thanks

Water could have the plastic guide's the release cable runs through or caused them to break limiting the pull on the release. If you look from underneath bumper with light you can see mechanism have someone pull release & hold why look to see whats not disengaging. Yo manually open from there.

Change headlights 96 oldsmobile 88

some cars have a plastic cover over the headlight area, all you do is pull it off. it's velcro. you don't need much room because all you need to do is twist the bulb and pull it out.

To much oil in motor by 4to5 qt what could happen if any thing

You can blow seals and gaskets. Sometimes it will leak past rings and burn it causing spark problems. Can cause ring and compression failure. Best to undo the drain plug and let some out. 1 quart probably won't hurt you. 2 out more might.

OLDS FUEL PUMP RELAY, WHICH

The fuel pump relay is the second relay up above from the fuses in this fuse box,if you locate where the fuses are in this fuse box you will see the second relay above these fuses is the fuel pump relay on this vehicle here.---------
Does the fuel pump fuse fuse #6 in the fuse panel with this relay have power across it with the key on.
The relay receives power from this fuse,it also receives a ground on one of the terminals from a chassis ground.---------
one of the other terminals feeds power to the fuel pump with the key switched on and with the engine running or being cranked over.the other terminal is the terminal that energizes this relay to feed power to the pump, this comes from the PCM(engine and transmission computer).
Most likely the signal from the computer isn't reaching or being sent to the relay to energize the relay to power the pump.------
In the relay there are 4 points.85,86,87 and 30:--- 86 is constant ground.
87 is power feed in from fuel pump fuse should have power with key on.
30 is power feed to fuel pump when relay is energized.
85 is signal from PCM(from what I can tell this should be power when the key is switched on for the first two seconds,if no power then test for ground here for the first two seconds).
You can jump across from 87 to 30 to see if pump runs and if vehicle will start.
------------
If the vehicle starts, then its faulty fuel pump relay, replace the relay, to order relay, click this link below :---- http://www.theautopartsshop.com/Search/PartDetails.aspx?gPartNum=old88/SIRY-601T&proid=oldsmobile+88+Fuel-Pump-Relay+Standard-Ignition+185473&Pat=auto+car-usa+Parts+Brand+PartDetails ----------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
