how do I remove the door panel on my 1996 Ciera
Remove the phillips-head screws on the door control panel, then lift the panel out and upwards to unlock the plastic clips on its bottom. At this point you have to unhook the plastic door lock knob from the control rod it snaps unto (a little difficult). Then the control panel will slide over the door opening handle and come away from the door panel, and you can disconnect the wire-harnesses. There are two other screws on the top of the door panel hidden beneath plastic covers that need to be popped out with a mini screwdriver or the like. There may or may not be a couple of screws at the bottom of the door panel. The door panel is held to the door with x-mas tree fasteners that are removed by placing a door panel removing tool behind the panel and around each x-mas tree fastener and prying it from the door. I've seen the fasteners removed with screwdrivers and the like rather than buying a panel removing tool, but usually it results in one or more fasteners being torn from the door panel instead of coming out of the door frame. It's a simple task, and the most frustrating thing will be getting the door lock knob to snap on the operating rod. Hope this helps, and good luck.

96 olds ciera 3.1 ...my temp gauge fluctuates from cold to overheating. hot air then cold air then hot, etc.i have noticed a small leak, but can not see it in the motor. the oil is not milky,no white smoke from the exhaust. had a pressure test done and has leaked more since that. was told intake gasket? any help?? thanks
Head gasket. The reason for the cold then hot readings is the cooling system is getting gas bound by exhaust gases. A simple intake leak would just make you loose fluid, but wouldn't cause the other symptoms until the coolant was very low. Which leads me to, is the coolant full? The head gasket most of the time will not leak coolant into the oil, but instead coolant will go into the combustion chamber, and exhaust gasses will go into the coolant. You don't see any white smoke until the leak gets extreme. Then shortly after that the engine hydro locks from too much coolant in the combustion chamber. There is a tester that will test your coolant for CO gas. That is the proof of a head gasket leak.

1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass, when left turn signal is turned on, it does not flash, right turn signal is hesitant to flash, but still does. How can I fix this?
Most likely cause is the flasher relay located under the drivers dash in the fuse panel. This relay is round and may be metal. Replace it with an electronic flasher relay. Pay the ten bucks and have trouble free service for a lifetime.....
Good Luck.

96 olds ciera trouble codes p0122 p0300 missing through entire range overheated a while back new intake gasket everthing hooked up right ran good two days now this please help
A code P0122 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Possible Solutions
Some recommended troubleshooting and repair steps are:
A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Possible Solutions
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak
in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.
