Car ran great,till one day

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If I were you, I would check the fuel pressure and check for spark. Make sure the fuel filter is not clogged and make sure you don't have a bad fuel injector. Your fuel pump could be going out also. Ev en though it appears to be fuel related, it may be s problem due to bad plugs/coils, wires, distributor cap, rotor, coil packs. Go ahead and check all your fuses to be safe. Once you test for spark and fuel pressure, you will know which way to lean. I am sure that one of them are off a little. If not, it may be something electrical. I believe it is fuel related, so start there.

Power windows stoped working

It could be a few things:
  • First, if you have a window disable switch next to the driver's side controls, check to make sure that wasn't turned on.
  • If that's not it, check the fuse.
  • If the fuse is good. Are all four windows not working. It could be the drivers switch if all four windows are not working. If it's just a single window, it could be the switch on that door.
  • Next option if all the switches are good is a bad motor.

Good Luck!

My 1992 oldsmobile cutles cirra

If the transmission has a TCC (torque converter clutch), then the TCC solenoid could be bad. Disconnect the square four wire connector on the side of the transmission. If the problem goes away during the test drive, then the solenoid is bad and must be replaced.

All four windows quit working

I would suspect a blown fuse, or relay. There should be a fuse/relay box under the hood, and also one under the driver's side of the dash. Find the one labeled "Power Windows" or something similar, pull it out and see if the wire in the fuse is burned into. If so, the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced with an exact same type and amperage fuse. If it is a relay (a little black box), you could pull it, and if there is an identical one for headlights, or something you don't have to have at the moment, you could swap that relay in place of the one for the windows and see if they work, and the headlights quit working. If so, you have a bad relay that will need to be replaced. These parts can be found at any local auto parts store.
Hope this helps!

Hello and thanks for your

what i think is happening is when you travel fast the wind and bumps are causing a wire to short and blow the fuses. a bad ground will cause this also. If you do not exceed 60 the fuses dont blow ? At times like these i do alot of hands on and visual checks of connections and grounds by wiggling them and having a helper listen for a fuse to pop and by touching that wire then you know that was the problem. If i don't have a helper i wait till dark and turn on car lights or blinker what ever seems to go out and i will wiggle wires in the dark looking for small sparks indicating a short.

The gears on the automatic

If i remember correctly this cars ant is located on the pass/side fender, the best way without trying to pull the fuse because then you will loose other systems, look under the passenger side part of the dash, you will need to remove the cover if its still there, most older cars are missing this cover, there are a few screws holding the cover remove them and drop and pull cover out, next look under the dash you will see wires coming from the fender area towards the radio there are green and theres a plug there, look close to the right and just unplug the connector, have the key on so you can here when the ant motor stops running and this will take care of that problem. good day.
