with car in park and emergency brake applied, engine running, all doors closed on flat, level surface: sit behind the wheel, watching illuminated door-ajar light -- have a friend push one each door (right at the door-jam edge) hard enough to rock the vehicle, but not hard enough to dent the doors. if the light filckers off, that door is where your problem is...--> check the functionality of the switch/button in the door jam that plunges in when the door is closed. It may need to be replaced or may just need a spacer added between the switch plunger tip & the part of the door that pushes it in.
Check fuse for gauges. If ok, try banging on top of dash above instrument panel to see if they begin to work again. If they do, possible loose connection or defective cluster
The shift cable linkage is likely the culprit. It won't start because the car cannot tell what gear it is in (it needs to be in park or neutral for the starter to operate).
Hi there ... the engine warning light thats on on your dash is probably the check engine light. You'll have to find out the codes and then we can help you with the problem. have iot scanned for codes and let us know what they are. We can help you form there.
Chances are it is in fact not the switch. These systems are wired so that at high speed setting battery power is connected directly to the fan. However lower settings switches through a set of resistors. These are mounted on a circuit board which in your case is mounted on the firewall on the passenger side of the vehicle under the wiper. Check this before you turn the control panel into a heap of spares on the garage floor.
Sorry no reset button ! You will need to do some electrical testing to find out what the problem is . You can go to www.bbbind.com for free wiring diagrams .On there home page click on technical information , five boxes will pop up , click on All TSB's and diagrams for every make and model - FREE , The next page go to the bottom an click I agree . On the next page click on wiring diagrams ,then enter your vehicle info , year ,make , model an engine size ! Then under system -engine ,subsystem fuel controls . then search , click on the blue links one at a time . Do you know how to read a wiring diagram ? If you hear the fuel pump humming it's probably not the fuel system ! Do you know how to check for spark at a spark plug ? Do you know what spark is an where to find it ? I know that a ASD relay not working will cause a no spark condition , because it supplies Battery voltage to the ignition system . No Start Diagnostic Basics EricTheCarGuy
