99 dodge durango wont shift into 3rd gear
If it's in limp in mode it won't shift out of 2nd gear. Get the trouble codes read. The solenoid pack is a pretty common failure. But don't just throw parts at it. Get the codes first.

Why car wont crank, but can smell gas
IT IS LOOKS LIKE A FUEL PRESSURE LEAKING INSIDE THE ENGINE OR DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTOR LEAKING . TRY DISCONNECTING THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. AND CRANK THE ENGINE IF ALWAYS CRANK WITH OUT OF FUEL (CRANK WITHOUT START) YOU HAVE FUEL LEAK INSIDE THE ENGINE
REMOVE THE INJECTORS RAIL UP EVERYTHING CONNECTED,PUT BACK THE FUEL PUMP RELAY TURN THE SWITCH ON AND FIND WICH ONE IS LEAKING. (GASOLINE IS FLAMMABLE TAKE CARE)
Where is egr valve located on 99 dodge durango 5.9l magnum v8 slt plus? Or does it not have one
Hi, I was unable to locate an EGR valve in any engine diagrams I ran across for your engine. However, if you know what an EGR valve looks like then trace all lines, tubing from your intake manifold. Sometimes they can be located at the back of an engine but more than likely they are at the front or the side of the engine usually with only one electrical connector and two screws that mount the EGR valve to an exhaust tube.
Was having issue with the slack adjuster stopping
your 99 dodge came equipped with metric hubs (drums)so the odds of getting the correct shoes are up to you...there is a difference and if the standard shoes do go into the drum it will be rare..very tight..hence the non release..they cant back off...check your hubs to see if they are metric or american..they are usually stamped...not throwing any names but I went to several parts vendors and each set of metric drums would not go over the shoes which I installed.. after markets.. and were all wrong...except O'REILLYS auto parts and They slid right on and gave me room to adjust ..good luck
Loud clicking noise which the clicking noise getss faster as i accelerate
From what you are describing it sounds like it must be a valve lifter sticking. Try putting a cup of transmission oil in your crankcase, or pick up some suitable additive from your local parts store. I wish i could hear it and give you a better idea. Maybe let them listen to it at the parts store, and they can determine if it's a lifter or not. Let me know how you make out.
I hear a clicking noise when I make a left turn,
Concerning the poor heat problem, the engine may not be coming up to full operating temperature. If you have a temperature gauge on the instrument cluster, see if its coming up to where it should be, about 3/4 of the way up. If not then check operating temperature some other way. Should be about 190 deg. If not hot enough engine coolant thermostat will need to be replaced.
