it sounds like it is the speedometer cable that goes from the speedometer gauge to the transmission is wearing out.unless you have done one of these before then i would suggest having someone do it for you.

Low coolant, air trapped in system after fluid replacement, worn out radiator fan clutch, leaking cylinder head gaskets, cracked block, clogged radiator. And in rare cases the water pump.

I just replaced one today. I found this post looking for an answer myself and ended up just going for it. The metal at the end of the plastic hose is a clamp that was compressed with a special tool. Here is what I did.

I cut the compression clamp open with a Dremel and a cut off wheel. Be careful not to cut through to the plastic. I did a little at a time the whole length of the clamp and cut through only at the end about 3mm. I then put a screwdriver in there any was able to pry it up and break the clamp in half since I had cut most of the way through it. Take your time.

With the clamp off it will still be hard to get the metal tubes out. I had badly rusted tubes so I broke them off near the plastic tube and bent the end inside the plastic a little with a hammer. I was then able to pull the vent tube out. On the fill tube I bent it to move it away from the plastic enough to get tin snips in there. I cut it and could then get the tube out.

It looked like there was some kind of rubber ring on the tubes. I used some sealer on the tube when I slid it in the plastic and used regular hose clamps. Make them very tight. You don't want an air leak.

Its cheaper than a new trany, try and recheck

They are right in a way. It will be next to impossible to fix it if you can't duplicate the problem, because you will never know if you found the problem. Two common problems with Mopar products are the ASD relay and the pickup coil in the distributor.

You did not mention which engine you have, so I will assume its the V6. What condition is the ignition system in ? Cap and rotor ?

check for air leak in the eng compartment ,maybe an intake air leak from one of the air hoses.

AND always thaw the wipers BEFORE you use them..manually pull them up off the window first...lots of people dont do this and ruin the wiper motor..

I would just get a new stereo

does the truck want to pull while stopped with brakes applied or stall the engine if so its bad or if the truck just sits still will not move possible conv or shutters shakes at around 42 mph 1700 to 19oo rpm thats the test procedeures

have the central timer module checked

cables might be broken
