Not knowing when but while driving it will die and can not restart un till letting sit for a couple hours or so then it runs fine untill happening again

Sound like the gas pump. (It work for couple minutes get warm and stop working)-Test the fuel pump in ohm. It's within the specification or not. If not Replace it. If it's good. Next step you need to check the injector relay. (It might quite working when it's warm)mai lor

check your fluids oil. power steering tranny fluid brake fluid and see which one is low

Oil leaking on ground

take a can of engine degreaser wash engine down and then start it up and see where oil is coming from could be oil pan gasket or valve cover but really got to look hard.

How do i take off plug from computer in 1998 dode intrepid , it needs to be cleaned

these plastic connectors have slot/tab hooks on them and usually require a small flat screwdriver to manipulate them aprt..contact cleaner works fine..

Will not start

Really need more info than that if you are serious about a good answer.. What does that car do when you attempt to start it? What engine is in it? 2.7L, 3.5L?? Could be as simple as bad battery or bad alternator or connection problems.... or as bad as broken timing belt.NEED MORE INFO!!!

open and close the ignition switch 3 times ending at an open switch check engine light should flash long flashes are tenths and short flashes are units example two long flashes and three short flashes is code 23.

1998 dodge intrepid engine keeps draining battery

Go to a part store such as Auto Zone and they will LOAD test the battery for free. If like Dodge said its the battery go back where you bought it and demand a new one. If its not the battery go back to Dodge and complain that you payed for them to fix the problem and they didn't.

98 intreped stalls after getting warm, about 1/2 on temp. gauge. Then it will not restart fo 15 to 20 min. Also sometimes after driving and shutting down it will not restart untill after sitting for a

98 and 99 intrepid was manufactured with weak fuel pumps causing them to vapor lock try pouring cool water on the fuel rails on the intake to calm vapored gas then try to start it. Even the temp gauge at half way mark is probably still low on coolant causing engine to be warmer than normal causing the vapor lock to fix this problem replace the fuel pump with a 2000 or newer intrepid fuel pump that carries a little higher psi to prevent vapor lock from reoccurring this pump is compatible with your 98 it will plug right in

Crank shaft

You must remove the engine from the car and then pull it apart to replace the crank, this is a very time intensive job that requires lots of skill and special tools, it is not for the home mech.

I would check your thermostat to make sure it is not stuck in the closed position. If this is ok then see if the ignition module is the kind mounted to the side of the distributor. These usually will start failing on older vehicles.

How adjust struts on my 1998 dodge intrepid

should be done by a shop on a alignment machine, basically you just loosen the 2 big bolts on the hub that hold the strut to it, failure to do it properly will affect steering and ruin the tires.
