Would a bad speedometer head cuase my truck to shut off when i try to come to a stop
i doubt the speedo head would do this , have the OBD codes read should give the sensor/switch at fault , you can also try some fuel addative , get one that covers the catalytic convertor as well as the valves etc, follow the makers instructions and take the vehicle for a longish drive (50-100 miles) so the engine gets to a good temperature, a dirty sensor , blocked injector etc could also be the cause and these some times do not show on early OBDII, keep me posted if you wish
Why does it miss between 50-60mph
Gas would do it all the time.Fuel filter may be stopping the flow of gas causing a misfire. It sounds water in gas but just at High RPMs like it is vapor locking (not getting the right amount of fuel). would change the Gas filter, Air filter, (gas Treatment to remove any water like Sta-Bil ).If it goes away your lucky. But it looks like a fuel pump is getting weak.
What is a cv joint
CV Joint stands for a ( constant velocity)
found on front wheel drive vehicles
Has 2 laft and right.
Hard shift low to second
In general-- a transmission that is failing
You can remove the valve body & clean it,
just keep in mind all the check balls fall out,
so you will need a diagram of it
After that-- you have to diagnose & replace any
shift solenoids that apply
Old vehicle & trans,I wouldn't change solenoids or
try adjusting bands, unless you have trans repair experience
I have a 98 dakota
