HI I HAVE A 1994

Check Engine Light NOTE: The early Premier vehicles can only have their fault codes read by a scan tool. The CHECK ENGINE light has 2 modes of operation: diagnostic mode and switch test mode. If a DRB II diagnostic tester is not available, the PCM can show the technician fault codes by flashing the CHECK ENGINE light on the instrument panel in the diagnostic mode. In the switch test mode, after all codes are displayed, switch function can be confirmed. The light will turn on and off when a switch is turned ON and OFF. Even though the light can be used as a diagnostic tool, it has the following restrictions:
  • Once the light starts to display fault codes, it cannot be stopped. If the technician loses count, the must start the test procedure again
  • The light cannot tell the technician if the oxygen feed-back system is lean or rich and if the idle motor and detonation system are operational
  • The light cannot perform the actuation test mode, sensor test mode or engine running test mode
NOTE: Be advised that the CHECK ENGINE light can only perform a limited amount of functions and it is a good idea to have the system checked with a scan tool to double-check the circuit function. READING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT The "CHECK ENGINE'' lamp has two modes of operation. They are as follows:
  1. Diagnostic Mode — The PCM can show fault codes by means of flashing the check engine lamp on the instrument cluster. To activate this function turn the ignition key on-off-on-off-on within five seconds. The check engine lamp will then come on for two seconds as a bulb check. Immediately following this it will display a fault code by flashing on and off. There is a short pause between flashes and a longer pause between digits. All codes displayed are two digit numbers with a four second pause between codes. An example of a code is as follows:
    1. Lamp on for two seconds, then turns off — lamp check.
    2. Lamp flashes 5 times, pauses, and then flashes once — code 51.
    3. Lamp pauses for four seconds, flashes five times, pauses and then flashes five times — code 55. The two codes are 51 and 55. Any number of codes can be displayed as long as they are in memory. The lamp will flash until all of them are displayed.
  2. Switch Test Mode — After all codes are displayed, switch function can be verified. The lamp will turn on or off when a switch is turned on or off. NOTE: After the component failure has been repaired, the engine computer will erase the fault codes after 50–100 ON/OFF turns of the ignition key.
---
55 means completion of fault code display on Check Engine lamp.

If there are no other codes, the engine doesn't have any significant codes to display.
---
Since the car won't turn over, I would say it's a bad connection at the battery which needs to be cleaned, wire brushed, etc. to give the starter enough current to turn over the car and start it up.

I just had a 1997 Cadillac that had the same problem and for $2.12 it was cleaned up by Walmart Auto Center and they even sprayed some anti corrosion red spray on the outside of the terminals to help preserve the cleaned up connection.

You can do the same thing by removing the terminals and wire brushing until shiny and reconnecting.

If this doesn't work there is a possible bad starter depending on what current draw there is on the battery. Generally a good starter draws 75 to 100 amps while turning at a good rate of speed.

Or, the battery is in need of replacement. A good battery should have 500 cca or above according to the battery load tester. Some batteries are rated higher than that when new.

So, I hope this clarifies what code 55 means. It doesn't mean anything important. It just means that it's the end of the data stream. And, if you disconnect the battery then it clears the codes.

Good luck on this repair.

2057 bulb works for turn

you probably have a bad ground connection in the socket. where the 3 wires come in. There ar 2 that go to the middle and one off to the sied of the socket. the one to the side, usually black, is the ground. You can try to wiggle it but be careful due to posible corrosion in the socket, it may snap the wire. That is what happened to me and I needed to replace the socket after that.

My driver seatbelt won't click.

There is a fault in the mechanism in the stalk or something is stuck in there (small stone, food etc...)

You can try and see if something is obstructing it and try to get it out with a thin screwdriver or the easiest solution is to get a second hand stalk from a wrecker.

Hope this helps :)

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango 4.7 l with the coil pack spark plugs but I'm not getting spark what do I do

Start with the silly, obvious things first. Check the coils packs are the correct ones and are seated correctly. Check the wiring connectors are also seated correctly. Have you checked for spark on all of the coils? This will test to see if it is the coils themselves or further back in the ignition system. Have you had the vehicle scanned for OBD trouble codes? This will help find out if it's a sensor causing the issue. Next you need to check for voltage going to the coil packs. Check them all to make sure it isn't just one or two causing the issue. After this I would suggest getting a good Auto electrician to look at it as it could be an issue inside the vehicle's electronics.

I hae a 2016 Dodge Charger with police package.... when i shut car off screen that says push to start does not shut off. Any Ideas?

A few possibilities: Key FOB Proximity: If the key FOB is near the vehicle, the "Push to Start" screen might stay on. Door Sensor: If the vehicle's door sensor is malfunctioning or if the doors are not properly closed, it could cause the screen to stay on. Battery Issues: If there's an issue with the vehicle's battery or the battery of the key FOB, it could potentially cause this problem. It's also worth noting that some users have reported similar issues with their vehicles and have found success in disregarding the prompts asking to turn off/turn on the car You may have to go to a professional mechanic to get this properly diagnosed. That said, here is the service manual: https://cardiagn.com/dodge-charger-2015-2018-service-manual-wiring-diagrams/
