Don't bother. Replace the unit.
3.0 liter
The oil pump assembly used on this engine is mounted at the front of the crankshaft. The oil pump also retains the crankshaft front oil seal.

1. Remove the accessory drive belts.
2. Remove the timing belt cover and timing belt. Refer to the timing belt removal and installation procedures in this section.
3. Remove the crankshaft sprocket.
4. Remove the oil pump mounting bolts (5), and remove oil pump assembly. Mark mounting bolts for proper installation during reassembly.

To install:

1. Clean the oil pump and engine block gasket surfaces thoroughly.
2. Position a new gasket on pump assembly and install on cylinder block. Make sure correct length bolts are in proper locations and tighten all bolts to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).
3. Install the crankshaft sprocket and timing belt. Recheck engine timing marks.
4. Install the timing belt covers. For more details, refer to the timing belt cover installation procedures.
5. Install the accessory drive belts.
6. Refill the crankcase and start the engine.
7. Check for correct engine oil pressure and for any oil leakage.

3.3 and 3.8 liter engines

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the dipstick.
2. Raise the vehicle and support safely. Drain the oil and remove the oil pan.
3. Remove the oil pickup.
4. Remove the chain case cover.
5. Disassemble the oil pump as required.

To install:

1. Assemble the pump. Tighten the cover screws to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).
2. Prime the oil pump by filling the rotor cavity with fresh oil and turning the rotors until oil comes out the pressure port. Repeat a few times until no air bubbles are present.
3. Install the chain case cover.
4. Clean out the oil pickup or replace as required. Replace the oil pickup O-ring and install the pickup to the pump.
5. Install the oil pan.
6. Install the dipstick. Fill the engine with the proper amount of oil.
7. Connect the negative battery cable and check the oil pressure. Check for any oil leaks.

for the 3.3 you can rebuild, 3.0 - replace.

If this is mainly a COLD start problem, then please start by checking the quality of the engine. Assess the compression ratio, the valve settings, the fuel settings and timings.
Make sure the fuel pump is calibrated and finally the battery must have good current on cranking the engine to allow the engine to fire.
I would recommend that instead of changing a part on assumption, please identify if this is a fuel or firing issue and proceed to check the section. Alternatively the scheduled maintenance must be done as required for the mileage clocked.

3.3 liter:

Remove the transmission pan, change the tranny oil filter & adjust the low-reverse band. Any chilton or haynes manual gives the tolerances & step by step procedure to effect repairs. You will need approx. 7 qts. of tranny fluid. Hope this helps. Good luck!

A TC shudder on a 604 is the first sign of the end. You may can get away with putting a torque converter in it , if you do it soon ( tomorrow).If it shudders going up hill it is most likely not the converter since the clutch is released under load. I would suspect and engine miss first.I am constantly dealing with vehicles that someone has diagnosed as a converter shudder and turns out to be something else , most the time just a bad coil or set of plug wires.

when the check engine light comes on it sets and stores a code
there are over 300 codes of possible codes
what you need to do is take your van somewhere and have the codes read (most major parts stores will do this free of charge )
give us the codes here and we can help you more
my best guess with you saying car shaking is you have a misfire but without codes that just a guess in the dark

The recomended tire size for your van is P205/70R15. Most tire shops can get thos if they dont maintain them in stock.

You didn't say the engine size here are the two most common engines for that year. There was a 3.3, if you need that one just write a comment.

2.5 liter SOHC L4 VIN "K"

fuel pump..check to see if you have fuel getting to fuel rail.if do...might be a vacuum leak

I had this happen to me getting on the highway one day. I ended up replacing every fuse in teh panel and the ECM to get it running again. I don't believe it was an ECM problem, it looked like the company I had install an alarm in the car had not spliced a wire in properly and that wire came free and shorted the main fuse bus to the ignition circuit. By a mix pack of fuses, about $3, and replace every fuse in the panel and see if that corrects the problem.

Rebuilt engine 3.0 liter. Gas mileage dropped to about 15. Put in new MAP sensor. Air filter staying clean. What else could it be

if you open the door and look at the locking mechanism,there should be a little lever which you have to push in the unlocking position

Possibly coming from engine compartment (engine or radiator, hoses, etc) and running back on frame before dripping down. Pressure test the cooling system to eliminate some of causes if this is the case,

4.5 quarts of oil. It doesn't really matter what brand you use as long as it is the right side. The auto part store keeps the log book in the area of the oil. going to this site can help you locate your factory recommended oil, but your local store can give you the latest recommendations on synthetics for your older engine. Think about trying that!

Way up under the dashboard, is your blend door lever that is opened and closed by the termperature control cable. We often find that the part that holds the cable sheath has come loose and no longer holds the sheath such that the cable inside will move the lever to open the door. I show the location and then a close-up of the mechanism below. You need to check to see if the cable is actually moving the lever and if not, reclamp the sheath so that it does.
