seem to me 2 huge problems, weak engine, does that hot or cold engine or both. pull wiper fuse? if engine still stalls , the wiring the wiper is wired crazy wrong. 29 year old truck there will be lots of things wrong. engine, does engine have full lower, even driven up hills? does engine idle controls work. can you save the wiper> engine stall with fast right foot?y/n/? when did truck run perfectly ? last week, year, decade? wipers motors can not stall any engine, even shorted, they blow the wiper fuse. the battery and aternator can do 100amps easy 10 x the fuse rating. seems to me the wiper wiring was hacked. to power feeds critcal to engine operation, (all electrics efi) the stock truck wiper circuits are almost fully isolated from anything else. it has its own fuse 20amp. wired to accessory run,.<< this is the only engine common point. so is wired wrong or or key run connection power feed is a mess.or loose? rusted? guess wiring behind key is a mess. me. check all power from battery to fuse to key switch, for loose rusty , or bad wring.

it depends on which transmission you have. the NP2500 uses 10w-30 if i remember right. I don't remember if a the NP2500 was an option in 93'. The AX-15 uses syncromesh, 10w-30 synthetic, Redline MTL, 75w-90 GL3 or GL4. DO NOT USE GL-5 oils. Dodge/Chrysler books made a mistake on this. From experience GL-5 oil make the brass syncro-rings sticky. Toyota used the same transmisison and calls for GL-3 or GL-4 oils. I've been using Redline MTL for about 50k miles. It shifts smoother and and doesn't get sticky when very cold. If it has the NV3550 transmission, it uses the syncromesh or Redline MTL oil.

Simple match up the colors of each wire but look for closely as some wires may for example be white and the other may be white with a black stripe on it. Just an example for all wires just be sure they match up with coordinating color. Good Luck.

Go to the junk yard and see if they will let you test it with a similar box off one of the junked Dakotas.

Check primary voltage to ignition coil, engine cranking, dark green wire with orange tracer. Check the same wire at fuel injectors, that voltage comes from asd relay. I'm not saying the relay is faulty, check the crank sensor. Any applicable trouble codes?

I'm not sure on a 1993, but on the generation 2 Dakotas (1997-2004) the automatic shutdown relay will be deactivated (turning off power to coil and injectors) if the PCM does not receive a signal from the crankshaft position sensor.

If this happened suddenly, and the Dakota had been working properly before that, it's probably the linkage. I don't know if you have mechanical linkage (cable or rods) or hydraulic (master cylinder and slave cylinder), but it shouldn't be too hard to find and correct the problem.

You don't. That engine came from the factory with hydraulic roller lifters. Hydraulic lifters require no adjustment.

Shot in the dark, but make sure it's in park and also block the wheels (front and back) and try to start it in neutral.

ASD relay ! Is there B+ voltage to the coil's ? Fuel pump relay electrical circuit diagnostic's . Do you have an know how to test with a DVOM digital volt ohm meter ? You can check out wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html ! The ASD - auto shut down relay power's up the fuel pump relay , ignition system an some other thing's . It's in the under hood fuse box !
