This could be an ignition switch problem , a BCM - body control module , The ignition switch is a Discrete Ignition Signal to the vehicle BCM body control module . The Body Control Module (BCM) performs multiple body control functions. The BCM can control devices directly connected to its outputs based on input information. The BCM evaluates this information and controls certain body control systems by commanding outputs on or off. The BCM control inputs can be: GM has had a problem with ignition switches , but the thing to do is hook up a scan tool an check for the correct power mode . Serial Data Power Mode On vehicles that have several control modules connected by serial data circuits, one module is the power mode master (PMM). On this vehicle the PMM is the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM receives 2 signals/circuits from the ignition switch. These are the Ignition 1 and Ignition 3 signals/circuits. To determine the correct power mode the BCM uses: ?€¢ The state of these signals/circuits, either switch closed (B+ = 1) or switch open (open = 0)

?€¢ The status of the engine run flag.

The chart indicates the modes detected and transmitted by the BCM: Those modules that have discrete ignition signal inputs also remain in the state dictated by the last valid BCM message received on the serial data circuits. They then check the state of their discrete ignition input to determine the current valid state. If the discrete ignition input is active, B+, the modules will fail-safe to the "RUN" power mode. If the discrete ignition input is not active, open or 0 voltage, the modules will fail-safe to "OFF-AWAKE". In this state the modules are constantly checking for a change status message on the serial data circuits and can respond to both local inputs and serial data inputs from other modules on the vehicle. You may want to take this to the repair shop an that doesn't necessarily mean the dealer !

Head gaskets leaking. Are you low on antifreeze? Does your engine oil have moisture on the dipstick when you pill the stick out.

run the fault codes and check for faulty sensors/ servos and solenoids in the transmission check for faulty TCM check oil level and condition pull the pan and clean out the filter. If there is any metal in the pan and filter then there will be a problem in the box If not adjust the clutch packs and bands

Your ebcm internal relay is likely failed, possibly has a c0265 code in ebcm. Pull the abs maxi-fuse underhood fuseblock, abs and red brake light will come on, but noise should stop. There are several module rebuilders online (module masters comes to mind)

no, but look at the following video just to remove the pickup tube from the pump to the oil pan: then you have to remove EVERYTHING in the front of the engine since it's behind the crankshaft pulley as seen on the following pics on the link i'm posting how do replace the oil pump on my 2001 chevy tahoe

Yes I have read all of the other coments posted on this problem all good points solid information . However I have a 4.3 Vortec engine yours is likely the V8 engine .But Chevy has a problem with the cooling systems in all of there engines and have had it for years. The intake manifolds are not bolted down well enough 8 bolts 2 in each cornor and they try to glue the rest of the intake gasket . To compensate for this the cooling systems have a hugh capacity and this Dex Cool antifreeze that is orange .Why so you don't see the rust comeing from the inside of the block .I'M SURE they have been getting a real good deal for years on this iron. The rust cloge's or damages everything in the system in a 2 to 3 year period of time .Makes Tstats stick plugs heater cores radiators and damages water pumps . The big problem is if the engine over heats the intake manifold gasket is history and likely the maniflod warps. The olny way to fight this it replace the coolant back flush the system with the block at least every 4 years and don't expect to get more then 8 years out of the radiator or heater core or water pump. There should be class action suites against GM for what they did . And don't me going on the fuel systems thats even more criminal

Fuse for tail lights should be marked on fuse box or cover for it its a 10 AMP RED FUSE

The abs relay is internal to the EBCM if you are referring to the code c0265 sets in the module and causes the ABS and RED brake light.

It's most likely your steering box but you want to have your front end checked for binding including the intermediate steering shaft joint. If all checks good and fluid in circulating then it's in the steering box

Sometimes if change the oil in the transmission will be fine Depends if U oil is black the problem can be the mission Going bad!

open drivers door, look at side of dsah

Check the crank position sensor. Also it could be as simple as a bad coil or coil wire. It definitely sounds electrical if you hear fuel pump priming. Also check distributor cap and rotor. Hope this helps

Should be fuse #38 in the under hood box. Pretty large black box, easy to access, on the Driver side. Pull the top off and expose all your fuses. Under the cover of the black box, you will find different fuse locations and numbers. In your Owners Manual, you should be able to confirm my findings.

One of the cables that control the release is broken right where it hooks to the seat,, the cable has a loop made in from factory it wears threw there,,, this is just one of the causes but the most common,,, also could be bottle cap or small piece of something making it hang up,, hope this helps

the reason the alarm is going off is because the doors more than likely were last locked with the keyfob which also sets the alarm. if you have the keyfob anywhere you can disable it with that and just use the keys normally but if you don't have the keyfob then one can be purchased from your dealer or if you do and it's not working you can take the numbers off of the back of it and look up that model number on ebay and program it for your vehicle.

This is a HUGE job and requires two people and the patience of four. Get a shop manual to walk you thru the steps.

Take a small screw driver or you can just use your fingers start on any corner and gently pry out toward you ( make surecstearing wheel is tilted all the way down ) gently work your way around until all clips are loose pull top toward you and up over steering wheel. ( to replace MAKE SURE YOUR CLIPS OR LINED UP ) gently tap all the way around until all clips are in.
