The 1990's chevy trucks(all of them) had fuel pump and grounding problems:
1. Check the fuel pump ground strap next to the gas tank as it could be broken from the connector or just loose.
2. Have a fuel pressure test done on the fuel lines at the engine top. (Note: if there isn't enough fuel pressure, replace the fuel pump.)
A serious symptom of a problem with the blower motor relay is a burned or melted relay. Relays are exposed to high current loads and can sometimes get hot when they develop problems. In serious cases, the relays may heat up to the point where the interior components and plastic housing of the relay will begin to melt and burn - sometimes even causing damage to the fuse box or panel as well.
Since the blower motor relay is essentially the switch that directly controls power to the blower motor, the entire AC system will be left unable to distribute its cooled or heated air if the relay fails. For this reason, if you suspect that your blower motor relay is having a problem, have the vehicle's AC system diagnosed by a professional technician from YourMechanic. They will be able to determine if the car will need a blower motor relay replacement, or a different repair, to bring full functionality back to your AC system.
First, Find a new dealer!! Then contact Chevrolet/GM customer service.. this should NOT continue to happen.. there is something causing this to repeatedly happen.. Your current dealer is not interested in finding the origin of the problem,,just taking your $$$$ and waiting for you to return and take more of your $$$$.
Elevate this issue within GM and get a service rep involved!!
You could remove the dash and remove the bulb... but a scan will show it...
Check engine light come on ? You should have some testing done ! Fuel pressure an flow testing , Scan tool data checked . Charging system , battery , connections , cables . What data does scan tool show for mass air flow sensor , what are the fuel trims at ? If you don't know what these are you need to take it to a qualified repair shop .
I would put a scanner on the truck and see if new codes have been set and you should clear the old codes. The cpu runs a cycle of about 50 miles and then sometimes will reset itself if no codes are found.
First step is to check ALL fuses, with the key on.Use a 12v test light and check then in place. Each fuse will have a small area on the top of each fuse at each end that can be probed with the test light. If both ends show power then the fuse is good.
Voltage testing is the way to find problems like this . or voltage drop testing . Find a wiring diagram an trace out the circuit , Don't go by someone said something about a green wire . Watch these videos on youtube Electric Testing Techniques You Need to KnowThe Trainer 32 How To Read An Automotive Block Wiring Diagram
If you want to fix electrical problems need to learn how don't guess or go by some guy talked about a pinched green wire .
How to read an electrical diagram Lesson 1 Then find a wiring diagram at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter your vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size . under system click on lighting , then under subsystem headlamps . Hit the search button ,you'll see three links . Click on the second , this is the DLR diagram , you'll see a drl relay , a BCM - body control module , DRL fuse 10amp located in the under hood fuse box . IGN fuse 10amp supply's B+ voltage to the control side of the drl relay . With a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter test voltage supply . I've been doing it for over thrity years . These resources i have listed , wish they would have been around back when i first started .
GM recommends DexCool but any brand (like Prestone) that advertises an "All Makes, All Models" product is probably better. Some users of DexCool have reported problems after a few years.
